given the nature of engineers they camp a lot, I would like to make a mobile unit for them that is not a large vehicle. I believe I can make a model like this with some research into importing vehicles but I may need some help with any coding

I'm planning to use the alien animations for this so it will move like a person

comments ? ideas ? HELP!

well there is this skin that looks something similiar to that dont know if it would be of any help so i will post it.

I'm talking about a full blown vehicle not just a model
something that unfortunately has little info as to coding available (in my searching)

think of putting your own model/skin in the walker
a spawnable vehicle for engineers

what about an ATST? or if thats too large, an ATPT. I assume you want a vehicle that acts like a person, right? those 2 both have legs that would allow this. also a nice thing is that the ATST is a 2 person vehicle... a driver and a gunner. this means that it gets to be a 2 person vehicle for team.

and since I'm on the topic of multi player vehicles... why do you get xp for linking a turret but not a vehicle like a bender? one nice thing about a bender is that you have 3 seats. I think the driver should get some xp for kills the gunners get and that someone linking the turret should get xp for the help too. thoughts?

want to keep it simpler for now like I said I'll need help with all coding to make it work
any volunteers with coding knowledge ? if not I'm probably not going to make the model at all

how is what you are doing different than making a scorpion and running that around... it seems you just want a different vehicle. am I misinterpreting?

that's my idea exactly but a walker would have better handling, and I think be more useful in smaller maps
as a scorpion cannot be used in smaller maps at all (basically)
this would allow engineers to move around without taking up the huge amount of space required by most vehicles (and be far less irritating , been run over by a paladin/hellbender in a small map lately ? )

Yes that is quite a problem, but what is more of a problem would be the out of bounds thing, how would that fit in this. Because everytime I am in a vehicle I get out of bounds when there are no monsters in sight and that is really irritating even when I am in the center of the map which is usually an open spot.

What Im also trying to say is that the vehicle you are trying to make might also make that out of bounds thing which would prohibit alot of usage... any thoughts?

you would take the linking code for turrets and put it in a vehicle. if the person is in the drivers seat... it says he is linking too. thats the only way I can think of.

ok well as for the vehicle... you can steal the manta code and modify that. the manta has the wasd, jump crouch and the firing. take that code. make it move more like on legs and add the animations for that. shouldn't be that hard. basicly a mod off the manta since everything in the manta is the same as with the player

the out of bounds thing I have no idea that's in coding which I'm clueless about

thanks trooper I'll look at the manta code , and pray it makes sense
the model won't be too hard but the rest is were it will be tough

edit
after some researching (found a great source code tutorial explanation ) and troopers idea of using other code I may be able to pull this off
probably gonna start work shortly ,
