Disk Cleaning

So my Xbox 360 is having a really hard time reading my game and I've tried cleaning it and it was better for a while but it keeps telling me to clean the disk.
Does anybody know any really good ways to clean a disk with out hurting it?

I can't say I have any tips, but this same error happened to me on my first 360. It would read disks at random, so it was never the same disk consistently. I sent it back to microsoft and it apparently is something to do with the older version of the 360's cd drive. My new one works perfectly, but that error was definitely a pain. So I can't say for sure if this is your problem, but that's how my 360 started out before it went downhill

It's a brand new 360, I just got it yesterday. So I don't know if its the 360 or not.

It's probably your drive. My Wii occasionally gives a read error despite my discs being in perfect condition. I missed the memo about the extended warranty to send it back to Nintendo

I hope it's not my 360 but I got a 2 year warranty on it.

Yeah, if it's multiple cd's then it's probably the drive. But with the 2 year warranty you just fill out a description of the error and Microsoft will send you a box with free shipping in about 3 days. Mine took two weeks including shipping back home, but it was worth it for a solid running machine and a free month of xbox live

. Either way I'd send it in before you really can't play at all... best to get it out of the way.

I have no clue if it will happen with other games as I only have 2 and my cousin is borrowing the other one.
My warranty is with Best Buy so I can just take it to them and they will give me a new one right there.

Well, sounds like the drive dragon. As for cleaning disks though, the best way has always been just warm water and dish soap. Make sure the soap is not antibacterial, as this leaves a nasty film behind sometimes and is hard to remove. Just wash with your hands with the soap and water, rinse very well and dry with a lint free cloth of some sort. Make sure it is totally dry before inserting into the drive, voila, clean disk. ; )

I'll use that technique at a later date when I need it again (cause I know I will ) emetakleze.
I ended up taking the disk to Game Crazy and had them clean it for me, I works fine now.
