Yeah...thats right...I said xbox.
Totally freaking awesome game. I could leave it at that but theres a bit more unused oxygen in the room so I'll continue.
This is the third in the trilogy (Sands of Time, Warrior Within, Two Thrones). I had played the first one and loved it but then fell back into PC land and didn't touch th ol xbox for many moons. I got a copy of this game thru swaptree and locked myself into it for about 8 hours straight yesterday, only stopping for sloppy joes, choco chip cookies (love you PyRo!) and to catch up on CSI. If I didn't have to work today, I'd probably still be playing it!
What makes it so addictive to me is, well, everything! The gameplay is awesome and unique, the story is very slick, and the graphics are downright sexy. It is a third-person adventure game where you play the Prince of Persia, returning home from your quest, only to find your city ravaged by war. Then things go all sorts of crazy and fun.
The gameplay is a riot because you have multiple weapons, countless moves, as well as matrix-time and 5 rewind opportunities among your special abilities. You have combat sequences fighting multiple baddies and then puzzle sequences trying to figure out how to navigate a series of obstacles. The fighting is very freeform with a TON of acrobatic moves as well as quick-kill assassin sequences, if you're sneaky enough. You can run along & up walls, do flips, rolls, etc. Lottso fun!
The story brings in a unique element where you get effected by the main baddie at the beginning and so your evil side breaks out every now and then and you go on a rampage. Coooool.
Aaaanyway, yeah, dust off the old xbox and give this a go! There are reports of Ubisoft developing a new chapter in the series for the 360 so that may be my must-purchase point for a new system.
Heres a cool vid of the gameplay (no cut sequences here):

Stephen: Stephen is my name. I'm the most wanted man on my island, except I'm not on my island, of course. More's the pity.
Hamish: "Your island"? You mean Ireland?
Stephen: Yeah. It's mine.
Hamish: You're a madman.
Stephen: I've come to the right place then! |

Yeah, it was a great game for the system. Good graphics, fluid game play, and interesting variety with moves. Better than it's predecessors by far. And I'd buy it again if my Xbox wasn't on it's last legs...
