some quick work just sized and matched skin
need to match up skeleton, export to unreal and create skin file



straight conversions are fairly easy

had a little trouble with skinning UT2004 is particular about skin files, but have it fixed now
will have 4 main skins (have to do quick teams skins for each) Iron Man , Mk II ,Mk III, and War Machine hopefully will post today as finished.


was a good learning experience has a glow (eyes/chest) and a shiney reflection which I didn't think I could do before now to add the effect to Demonslayers' Barbarian

OK all finished
no team skins the model was fighting me on those

and I'm tired today so 4 skins in total all in 1 tidy package

actually this is more than a skin it is a new model with 4 different skins

a model is used to represent you as a player (what other players see) the different skins are just to make the model look a little different

I know Ghost , and I , and now Elite ( I believe) use different skins/models for each of our different characters (Weapon Masters, Medics, Adrenalin masters , and Engineers)

the chrome bender in my sig is my previous model, my new "skin" is just above that (click link)
so unless you want to see everyone with "custom"models/skins as Malcolm (default) you need to download their skins

Which makes me beg the question...
To export you just used only Unreal editor or you had to use an external program as well?

well in the case of Jedi academy
I have to use Milkshape to convert the glm file to 3ds max format
then in 3ds max I have to resize the model to match the UT2004 skeleton
match up the model to the skeleton , simplify models skin structure to two
remap the UV to match skin files , which need to be jumbled together
attach the model to the skeleton so it looks good (no tearing/loose vertices)
export it to unreal Ed attach it to a default animation resize it yet again
make a texture file a upl (ID) file
and presto several hours (possibly days lol ) later its done

so milkshape , 3ds max , UnrealED , photoshop, and usually Upaint to verify models skins as two part and which parts

well it seems that some of the community have figured out UT3 file structure out better now as I see more UT3 models out
so once I get the game there should be some good tutorials for me to follow as I'm guessing UT3 is fussier than UT2004
but I love the idea of interchangeable parts , but having a familiarity with the other Programs should help as their is a lot of learning to do that is specific to each program
and I already have a model in mind which I may start some work on FINALLY : Samurai bunny Usagi Yojimbo ,armor pieces and all
