I may not get on to play much (since I got the PS3 and have switched to BF2 or other games when I play on the PC occasionally) but I still read here a lot and am not entertained by reading my own posts.

Why Bot, perhaps it's because we miss ya. You know, it wouldn't hurt if you came on for a map or two............Hmmmm, if you're rusty, that might make it a little easier to whomp ya!!!!!!!!

Actually, I thought about coming on yesterday - but when I got home, I figured out it would be difficult ...

My PC's in my bedroom. My GF had an operation Monday (hysterectomy, along with ovaries and some lymph nodes removed to eliminate and prevent the spread of cancer) and she's recovering in my apt. Thing is, my computer chair has been commandeered as a shelf for some of her stuff so she doesn't have to get out of bed or stretch too much to get it.

Alas, back to my PS3 (working through Resistance: again).

And as folks have been known to ask, she's doing well - very sore, naps on and off throughout the day, but a bit mobile and getting her appetite back (and the percocet is helping). Doctor said after the operation that he considers her "cured". I'm actually allowed to go to work (took Monday off, she was in the hospital Tues, and Wed did a half day from home). She's even telling me I should go bike riding on Saturday ...

Wow, sounds like a rough road! Glad things are looking up tho, hang in there.

Stephen: Yeah. It's mine.

Stephen: I've come to the right place then!

Keep her thinking positive thoughts cause it's gonna be rough on her for a while. Tell her that we all love her and would welcome her to the community at large.

To Bot's credit, he was on yesterday for a bit.

The forums have definitely slowed down in recent months, but it's all cyclical. Veteran players leave and new players find DC.

I'm just grateful to Dru and Shan for giving us a place to play and chat.

And Bot, we're all praying for a fast recovery for your girlfriend.

Okay - here's updates:

She developed a complication on Monday 5/12 (two weeks after her big operation previously mentioned). Kind of serious, pretty gross and embarrassing, and frankly, one of the ickiest things you could ever conceive of happening to a woman. She almost fainted when she realized what was happening. There are many many reasons for not going into more detail ...

She went to the doc's office, and after some minor confusion, was immediately admitted to the hospital. Had an operation to fix the issue Wednesday (it was done laproscopically, which is great, since the original situation would have had her having a second operation three months later to undo something they'd have to do to fix the issue).

When they finally let her out Sunday, she was in some ways doing and feeling better than when she went in. Still napping, on pain drugs now and then, and refuses to bend over until the doctor tells her it's okay. However, we walked around our block twice yesterday. She's theorizing that we might be able to go to the movies Saturday and catch "Iron Man."

As for me, the hospital is 30 minutes away, and within 90 minutes of leaving work, I was there every day, until at least 7pm at night (and most of the time well into the 8 o'clock hour). Note that I get into work around 5:30am. Do the math on the time ...

I certainly hope this is for both of us for a while.

Monday (5/26) marks our 4th month together.

Anyways, in the middle of all that, my sister got me the PS2, I've been playing:

- Destroy All Humans! (1)
- Simpsons (on PS3 - just a little bit)
- Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga (PS3 - more than Simpsons)

and I have Destroy All Humans 2 waiting for me (played it just a little before 1 came in). I've:

- Finished "Ender's Game"
- Started "Ender's Shadow"

"Shadow of the Hegemon" is here, and three more books (I guess the "Speaker" portion of the Ender series) are on their way.

In the long run, there will be game and book reviews on my MySpace blog.

So you all know where I've been.

Wishing your girlfriend a speedy recovery and that all goes well for the future. It took my friend 6 weeks to recover, 8 weeks off work as it is a serious operation. Make sures she rests and does not pick up heavy items. All the best to you as well,

Yvonne
