Hey all,
I will be in San Jose on may 5th through the 15th. If there are any DCrs out there that can recommend some recreation in the area, or want to get together for dinner let me know!
I only get out of Alaska once or twice a year so I am looking forward to this trip. I have not been through the bay area sense I was a kid so I cant wait to see how it has changed.
At any rate. see ya all in the game!

Will you have a car to drive? I used to live in the East Bay for over 15 years. If you have a car, take a drive up to SF. Go to Golden Gate Park and check out the Natrual History Museum. Or, go the SF Zoo, which isn't too bad. Walk across the Golden Gate Bridge or go just north of the bridge to the John Muir Woods. If you want to go somewhere down in the South Bay, you can go to Great American theme park. I only went there once a long long time ago. I don't know what it is like now, but I hear it is kinda ghetto now. Monterey is a nice place to go. That is south of where you are. It doesn't take long from San Jose. Go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It is a really cool place. There are a lot of places to eat there, but many of them are rather expensive. It is fun to walk along the beaches and check out the tide pools. For places to eat, I'm not sure about the South Bay, I didn't go anywhere down there. Mt. Diablo is a neat place to go up. That is near where I used to live. If it is a clear day, you can see all of the Bay Area to the west and the central valley and Sierra Nevada Mountains to the east. You probably don't want to drive too much because gas in the Bay Area is really expensive.

Oi yeah, PyRo and I were out there last week and low-grade was $4.00/gal... Beautiful place tho! I drove right past your destination. I had a trade show all week in SF and met up with PyRo in Lompoc for the weekend. (Smallish town, near the airforce base.)
Get lottso pics with that sexy new camera and post 'em, eh? You on flickr yet?!
cheers.

Stephen: Stephen is my name. I'm the most wanted man on my island, except I'm not on my island, of course. More's the pity.
Hamish: "Your island"? You mean Ireland?
Stephen: Yeah. It's mine.
Hamish: You're a madman.
Stephen: I've come to the right place then! |

Will do, thanks, haven't tried flicker yet, I think my photo drive is giving out. Time to make sure everything is backed up. Maybe its time to use an online backup service.

I lurve the bay area. Maybe one day I can afford to live there
The last time I was at Great America was over ten years ago and all I can remember is an abundance of roller coasters. If that's your cup of tea, then I would recommend it. I would definitely go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Very cool place!
