Screenshot/UT graphic problem

Hey! Me again with another ..anomaly....
Well as the old video card was replaced after that Ive noticed some odd screenshots..where the top and only the TOP has the image sliced up....

This can get annoying just for screenshots in general or because it means my stats shots may be missing well...stats! defeating their purpose. It doesnt occur always but often enough to be a pain

The Vid Card is now the NVidea FX 5200
When I got the computer back...I was getting stop errors related to driver issues so I uninstalled an reinstalled those for the nvidea...
I also had some RAM issues which..didnt bother me seeing I was about to plug in Ram (which I have done also) 2 gigs worth

There is also still problems with our OS (which I need to format the computer to fix..seeing we've never formatted in 5 years..>_>..)

So yeah thats all I can think of at the moment....

Could be a heat issue. All sorts of strange crap happens when the vid card gets too warm.

Another thing I experienced was a conflict between the mobo and the vidcard at the manufacturer level. Neither side would admit fault so it was never fixed but that was a geforce 6600gt fighting a certain chipset (cant remember). Who knows, mebbe look up bugs on your card in the nvidia forums.

One other thought, if you are on an LCD, could it be a Vsync issue? I question because I've never had an issue with that directly but I've heard that causes some bizarre freakouts as well.

You're using the same comp, just a new video card? If so, you should make sure all the old graphics drivers were deleted. As Wombat said, I've read about conflicts with Nvidia cards and certain motherboards. A nice format of the HD doesn't hurt, though. Especially after five years.

Yeah..Well Ive eliminated frequency issues I think cus it still did it today....
I believe the ATI drivers were uninstalled...I know i had nivdiea driver problems before...but after a quick uninstall and new install with updates no more blue screens of death

Ill try the HD format see if ti fixes it in ..a month...(exams are in 2 weeks and last minute work is GAAA!

So I guess I may live with it till then...unless I find some ATI scraps still on somewhere..or its a common issue with the card..(havnt checked that one yet..)

Theres an excellent freeware program called DriverCleanerPro that does a fine job of nuking video driver fragments, mebbe give that a run.
