Want to see if any of you have any ideas. I installed Trend Micro Internet Security on my computer and Boingo's. My outlook express doesn't do anything now and if I run UT, I get this:
Build UT2004_Build_[2005-11-23_16.22]
OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600)
CPU: GenuineIntel Unknown processor @ 2601 MHz with 1022MB RAM
Video: RADEON 9800 PRO (6727)
CreateTexture failed(8007000E).
History: FD3DTexture::Cache <- FD3DRenderInterface::CacheTexture <- FD3DRenderInterface::SetParticleMaterial <- FD3DRenderInterface::SetMaterial <- USpriteEmitter::RenderParticles <- AEmitter::Render <- FDynamicActor::Render <- RenderLevel <- CTF-BoomBoomBridge][.myLevel <- FLevelSceneNode::Render <- FPlayerSceneNode::Render <- UGameEngine: raw <- UWindowsViewport::Repaint <- UWindowsClient::Tick <- ClientTick <- UGameEngine::Tick <- Level Boom Boom Bridge <- UpdateWorld <- MainLoop <- FMallocWindows::Free <- FMallocWindows::Realloc <- 10910191 0 FArray <- FArray::Realloc <- 0*2 <- FMallocWindows::Free
It has something to do with the anti-virus software. I've uninstalled twice and UT will run just fine as well as Outlook. I've gone through their tech support for three weeks now and they aren't helping. They won't give my money back and this software cost about $50. I haven't really tested Boingo's computer with the software. Her sytem is totally different then mine in terms of hardware. She did say that she noticed some graphics problem in UT once that has never happened before. Not sure why the software would have any conflicts with the video drivers. I've gone through all kinds of settings.
Here is my hardware:
P4 2.6 GHz
1 gig ram
two WD hard-drives
ATi Radeon 9800 Pro
Asus motherboard
Win XP Sp2

Grrrr! I hate how some AV software "works" with Windows for that reason.
You may have to dig into the options and find an exception list so the software won't try to scan the traffic generated by UT. It could be by port or by image.

That's what I attempting to do. For some reason my UT key must of changed. My name comes up as imposter now. Not sure why. Really bugging me now.

I run the AVG free edition (antivirus) and just turn it off before I play UT .
I have my (free) version of zonealarm running in game mode (deny) don't know if thats an option that'll help

I've attempted to just turn off the firewall and even reinstalled UT. Unfortunately, neither has worked. In fact, I can't even get into a game at all now. Before, I was at least able to get into a game for a few minutes. All my drivers are updated as well.

The next thing I have tried is messing around with the firewall to 'allow' UT. Now, I get a Microsoft C++ Runtime error and UT won't even open now. I put everything back the way it was, but it still does it. I have even put my overclocked settings back to normal, just to see if that helps.
