Gran Turismo 5: PS3

If any of you have a PS3 and have an account, they should be sending an e-mail for a $5 off from Amazon for this game. Amazon has a pre-order price of $39.99. With the five dollars off, that's a pretty good price for a PS3 game at $34.99 and free shipping. Just wanted to pass the info along if anyone was interested.

Well finally got the game. I pre-ordered it from Amazon back in Febuary, but I got a slightly better deal then the stores ($34.00 with shipping). Anyway, I've only been able to play it once, but the graphics are what set this one apart. They are very good. The rendering of the cars was definately something they focused on. Both in the game itself and when you are going through the 'dealerships' to buy a car in the game, the cars look realistic. From what I read, the cars in the game are basically a direct HD image taken of the cars in real life. Technically, this isn't the full version of the game, but there are still a lot of cars to choose from (the full version will have many more cars and tracks). I can't remember, but there are around 18 car auto manufacturers represented along with five aftermarket auto tuners like Blitz and Amuse. The game play is fun so far. The car seems to handle like a real car and you can change that option, if you so wish. Everything seems refined and catered more to car enthusiast people. It isn't an arcade type game, but more of a simulator, which is what I like. I don't have much of an opinion on the audio yet. It seems swell so far, but I only have two cars to listen to while I'm racing. Finally, you can play split screen against another person, which will be fun, but I have yet to try that out. Boingo and I will surely race one another. You can also play online, but I have yet to try that as well.

Gameplay: 8/10
Overall: 8.5/10

Thanks again. I just saw this at costco yesterday, I almost purchased it then, but I don't play my games as much in the summer. Land of the Midnight sun and all of that.....

I know how you feel. I don't play my games that often either. I still have only played this game once. I haven't played Warhawk in well over a month and I got Eye of Judgement for Xmas which I've only played, maybe, two times.

I mostly play Eye with the kids so remarkably, while it is not my favorite, I play it more often that my favorite mature titles....kind of funny the way that things work out.

Off topic, but I saw that they had the second set come out for Eye of Judgement. I won't be getting it since I don't get to play the game, but mostly because you have to not only buy the new cards, but you also have to purchase the software upgrade via PSN. I don't want to put my credit card info on there. I think it was something like fifteen bucks for the upgrade.
