Ok, everything seems to work fine except one last thing. When my server is up, the ping always says N/A. How do i fix that?

ya, i saw online that this happened to people. So i took out my laptop and had the server running on my desktop and on the laptop i went to see all the online servers, mine was there and the ping was about 90. So it was good. However, i still don't know if that server will appear to everyone else, maybe it only showed to me because my laptop was on a LAN. Still i joined the server through internet, not LAN.

Now i have another probelm. It happened when i joined, i couldn't see my gun, health bar, adren, i couldn't even switch weapons. I could shoot watever i picked up but i still couldn't see the weapon or anything. This only happened when i tried joining the server. When i tested out my server through listening on my desktop, everything worked fine. I thought my laptops ut might just be messes so i then tried joinin the server on my desktop but not as listening. I would put the server on as dedicated then open ut again and connect through LAN. I connected but ya, i had the same problems, couldn't see weapons, health, etc...

Can any1 help solve my new problem?

i'll be more than happy to help... first, i'll need your server's public IP so I can join it and see if I can replicate the problem... i won't be home until 8 tonight, and it's 10:00AM right now, so... i'll help you out tonight..

Hey, i'm a veteran computer repair pro (14 years so far)... if you're having an issue, let me know, i'll be more than happy to help you!

as for Dru's new RPG, I don't know... I hope it's soon though, I'd like that on my server, and i'd love to modify my jack-of-all-trades class to incorporate some of those new features

Its mostly a blue screen. I turned it on once and i got a blue screen. I tried goin thru safe mode and same thing. This has happened to the computer before and i think its becoming more frequent. It happened 3 months ago, one month ago, one 3 weeks ago and now just 2 days ago. Last time i tried to use the repair function on the windows xp cd but there was no repair option, so i suspect that the hdd is damaged. It could be a virus but i have avg antivirus and a router so im guessin that a virus would have a hard time getting in. I don't know wats happening but it is bugging me. I was thinking of replacing the computer but if i can pinpoint the problem to one part of the computer then i can just replace that part.

next time you get the blue screen, post the Hex code it's complaining about (usually looks like 0x0000004A) or something similar... or if it has a file name (about half way down, on a line all it's own... like:

atigpl.dll

or something similar... post it and i'll help you out... if it's occuring more frequently, it sounds more like a hardware problem than a software problem, but that's what i'm gonna help you figure out

i wish i could give u that but the blue screen only appears for about a split second. I'll try to get it but it won't be easy.

here...

find your "My Computer" icon... right-click it... go to "Properties"

you'll be in the "System Properties" window...

go to the "Advanced" tab...

under the heading "Startup and Recovery", click the "Settings" button

you'll be on the "Startp and Recovery" window... in the middle, under the "System Failure" heading, UNCHECK "Automatically Restart"...

now click "ok" to confirm the settings on the Startup and Recovery page

now click "ok" to confirm the system properties changes...

now when you get the blue screen, it'll stay...
