Here's the deal,
I own a Dell dimension 4600 that's about 5 years old. I'm looking into buying either an 80 or 160 GB hard drive internal and need some suggestions on a good one to get as well as a cheap site to search to buy it online.

I *think* that your motherboard has a SATA (version 1 only) connection - so you may want to check. But either way, I have added a drive to a my kid's 4600 before but I can't remember which one I went with - just picked one from New Egg that was affordable.

Almost any of the larger name brand hard drive manufacturers are a good choice.

Do you know how much you want to spend? because hard drives have gotten pretty cheap the last couple of years.

I did a quick google search and came up with these in the 80 to 160 range that are SATA.

Heres one for you, 320GB, ~85 after shipping. Its IDE which I'm sure you have, and its WD, which I've always been a fan of. Anyway, yeah, I'd say newegg.com for buying, regardless of what you buy.

Or save $10 and drop to 250GB...

Good luck and all that!

cheers.
