well after porting over the grievous model from JK3 I decided to try modeling
my two current projects are Usagi Yojimbo - Samurai Bunny from TMNT (which isn't going so well)

and The Robot Devil from Futurama here is a pic





still need to finish head, hands , skin, and do a voice pack

if this works out I may do some more Futurama robots as they are fairly simple in shape

Though it kinda looks like head is a little too small. Otherwise awesome!

all right phase 1 is done


the head does look small , and the horns prolly should be longer but I like the sizing for now

now to skin which should be the easy part but its fighting with me

after that the voice pack anyone now a good program to use ?

I use "UT2k4 Voice Packager" to make my new voice pack which can be found at http://geeks.beyondunreal.com/ut2004/tools.php#VoicePkg

The different tabs I used are:
INFORMATION - fill in the Package name and Package title blocks, you can name them both the same. I named both mine "Fodderfryvoice" You'll want to name it something unique.
FRIENDLY FIRE - put wav files in here which tell people on your team that they are shooting at you... i.e. "I'm on your team idiot"
TAUNTS - I put all the sounds that I used in my voice pack here. As it turns out you can put them in OTHER too if you like.

In each of the tabs you'll see:
WAVE FILE - this is the wave file you want in that position
TEXT - I think this gets typed out on screen when you hit that taunt (I left most of mine blank)
ABBREVIATION - this is what you'll see in settings when you start the game.

When you're done:
if you want to work on it later I suggest you SAVE AS the file, that way you can open it later.
To make the ".u" final package click the yellow "u" at the top of the program screen.
You can test it by clicking the blue "u"

Save it to your SYSTEM directory

Now you're done... wasn't that easy?


In settings in game you can configure what key uses what sound

The current futurama toons rock and I can't stopping the progress to add more

well he's in game
basic skin done , but seems to be semi-transparent in latest attempt

not happy with the stretching in the legs though have to work on the mesh some more



I've pulled a bunch of sounds out of the 2 episodes he actually speaks in and will be a small voice pak unfortunately

progress has slowed I am having some issues with linking the mesh (UT standard) to the model sooo more work

on the good side the skin is no longer semi-transparent

well work is about complete just need to do team skins and finish voice pack

still not completely happy with skin or the stretching in the mesh but its time to do something else this has been a real test of my patience
...next model won't have tubes for arms or legs lol

The Bender model already had the segmented legs and arms just like this character. You could have started with that model to re-use those parts for a start and made it into what you want. Just a thought.

this was more of a learning experience for me
from scratch to create the model skin it and add some shaders

well I found a nice cellshader specular shader that looks cool





gonna try to do the voice pack tonight...if not I'm releasing it without
