let's start with your specs and a little more info on the crash - any messages?

Otherwise with the information you posted I can only guess temperature or a driver issue.

Buying a new computer would solve your problem (unless you post more details - general answers to general questions)

Like spike said, I would say heat. Take the cover off and blow out the insides really well, (heat sinks, fans, drives, power supply) and start it up.

I had a huge crashing problem back when I sent my soundcard in for warranty repairs. For whatever reason, UT didnt like the hardare and/or software for my onboard audio. I never really narrowed it down to which it was. I tried all the usual steps, but it still crashed quite often. Once I put the replacement card back in, it worked just fine again.

My current skin After several other skins, I have reverted back to Bender.

It's worth a shot. I have a Audigy 2 ZS platinum Pro and it works fine. My problem was with the cable and the external drive it connects to. but I had to send it all in for repairs (replacement actually). My Mobo has the usual junk onboard audio so I was still able to play with sound. But soon after I yanked out my SB, and turned on the onboard via bios setting, installed the drivers, it never was stable in that setup. Now, it could be a problem with drivers in some way. I was originally blaming it on the latest UT patch i had recently installed. But when I got my SB back and installed it, disabled the onboard, it worked just fine thereafter. Now, this is just my issue I had. It could be any number of things including a thermal issue, but a thermal issue would affect the entire machine, not just the game, unless it's the video overheating during the load it's enduring during gameplay. A thermal issue with the PSU or CPU would affect the entire unit even in idle or business apps. So I would look at the GPU or onboard audio (if that is what you have) A dedicated audio would be a better rout if in the financial cards. Same for video.
