Greetings everyone.

To prepare for exciting new things here at DC, we will be performing an OS upgrade during the day tomorrow (10/13). During this time, all services of DisastrousConsequences.com will be unavailable for an extended period; probably 3-4 hours.

We anticipate that this activity will occur during the late afternoon/early evening, and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We look forward to gaming with you on the flip-side of this upgrade.

My guess would be CentOS 4 to 5. But then I can't remember for sure if that's what Dru had been running.

For some reason, I thought the server was running a Linux version.

CentOS (if memory serves) takes the source packages from Red Hat Enterprise Linux (which are freely available), removes the branding and Red Hat graphics, and compiles them for free distribution. So yes, it is running a version of Linux - for lack of a better comparison, a "generic" version of the RHEL distribution (much like you can find generic acetaminophen which is essentially unbranded Tylenol).

It took me from about 3:30 to 8:00 to bring the unreal process back online. The forums, website, email, and all associated downloads were back online as of about 11:30.

When I shut it down, the server had been up for 379 days.
