Sounds a good idea to me. Not sure what level it should be available at - perhaps 150 or 200?

What does everyone else think?

What does the damage reduction apply to? Vehicles, structures, or all of the above?

Well...Hmm...My idea was sorta the engineers equivalent to Peys having advance damage red...but seeing their only 3 sents currently...So...Everything i guess?..(Cus come on ..lvl 200 + a medic with advanced damage red ..its still hard as what!...and not to mention vehicles dont have the ability to dodge.:/.....
So a Dam red of 50 + advace 1 to a sent is equal to a pet having their owner have 50+ 1 advace dam red.....

As I said its sjut a thought.....to give the phonetically higher engineers a fighting chance without over powering them....(arms are the onyl way to fend off monsters..)

I like the general idea, but level 150-200... Isn't that a bit late? How about 10 levels of it (like advanced damage bonus). You can purchase first at lvl 100 and the next in every 5 lvls. So you'd be done at 150.

Or perhaps a slow building regen instead? First level gets "you" 1 health every 10 seconds, 10th level gets "you" 1 health every second.

I do not think it should for for turrets/vehicles, as you can buy vampirism for those... The sents are on their own...

Regen May not be as balanced though..cus then what about pets?They dotn have regen (advanced damage red they do)..Sure they can dodge but sents do have some fire power.......
And wonko ..the reason they shoudl be late is itsthe fact that at lvlv 200 they are unbeleivably strong..( i dunno maybe some other ppl whoa re lvl 100-150 medics can pitch in their word here? same boat...pets..infi singular wep....BUT they have regen...and can self heal easier..and have drip..so they would have it easier in some regards..but sitll our closest current thing to a 100 engy.. )

oooooh...*has an impractical idea*..
How about moving sents named ' helper sents' that go around and heal their fellow sents..but those sents themsleves are targeted by monsters(or not)....so for eg:
lvl 130 uve got 3 sents...so u summon ur normal sents..2 helper sents...the helper sents does nothing to u and you can heal it....the helper sent can heal each other and ur normal sent but they themselves dont attack nor can they heal themsleves (theyd have to moblie ones with a link gun that doesnt link ..thats why i say impractical idea..too problematic..lets give them one mile stone at a atime....)

But eh these are just ideas...they been ideas for ' sprinkerler sents' as well and the fact that the sents will be abel to go tot he ceilings too now will add a new aspect to game play.....We will ahve to see how it turns out>.(cus a ligthing sent on the ceilign means ur enmies look up.....u shoot from below..and its a bigger move from behind same lvl..to behind looking up)


Still wonko vaild point bout sents have no vamp...so hum...well...None of our players are even 100 engineers...so we all will find out how hard it is then.........Im not a programmer nor an admin so eh I can only suggest my view ......my say isnt exactly impacted upon what lvl it will be..[ or even if it will be implentmented (150 seems good to me cus u get ur 3rd sent up at 130...so 20 lvls with somethign to work towards..)]
As for the Vamp and regne for amor...true that they may have that but think about it...thats their strengths.....as the AMs strength is artifacts and adren/magic weps...as WM is the damge bonus and varrity fo limitless weps..?(with drip) and as medic is to pets and his healing inf wep..(with dam red)

so yeah...

Onimusha's post (once upon a time) in an answer to my question about whether pets get DB and DR, said that pets do indeed get regen. My experience seems to confirm this; I specifically remember watching Bot's pet ice skaarj once while I was dead. Since I was in first person mode, I could see its health. It had regen 1 (or was regenerating 1 hp/sec anyway).

Anyhow, I think its a decent enough idea to give Advanced construct DR, level 150 is maybe too high of a requirement. There's only 103 people currently over level 100 on the server, let alone engineers, let alone level 150 or 200. So I agree with wonko, level 1 ACDR at level 100 would probably be fine.

I like the Idea.

I don't think that pets are unbalanced, with sents, pets seem to be "more durable" but the fact is regen 1 for a pet of a medic when there health is already amazingly high just is not that much. Not when you consider that healing blast and globe are bringing them up as well and I typically use one of those every round or so.

I like your impractical ideas jason, I can see 3 helper sents all healing each other on a long fast lift that has a chance of crushing people sitting all in a circle healing each other....

I would rather see some minor magical bonuses on a sent before adding other abilities, that or a few more kinds, maybe their damage wouldn't be more, but just different ranges and weapon types?

I'd love those magical abilities too! I have mentioned that somewhere before. Or perhaps just ability (at higher lvls) to build sents with JUST the magical ability (no direct damage), as in freezing/null/poison sent.

If the ability can be just added to someone's usuall sent, it should be really minor. Something like poison +1 (+2 tops), perhaps freezing/null +2.

The health problem with sents is in my view most notable at lightning and defense sentinels. Normal ones tend to live pretty long by themselves, even with no health upgrade (forgot the name of that skill).

I'd like to have an ability that gives the sentinels the magic that the player's current weapon has, so if you have a protection weapon it suffers less damage, if you have a poison weapon, it poisons etc.
Same with the turrets.
But I don't think Druid will let me.

Name of skill is construction bonus....aaaaaaaand um hmm..well as for varried weps....currently i think they need to get the movements working first b4 they can go to diff weps......like that bio sprinkler....

So did this idea of "Advanced Construction Damage Reduction" ever get put into effect... Or whats the status? So far from reading the last comments Ive seen no one oppose the new skill...
