I wanted to show everyone something that has me thrilled. The article explains, but an Erie cancer researcher accidentally discovered you can burn salt water with radio frequencies. He's meeting with the department of energy and defense to hopefully gain funding for research. But this could mean an unlimited power source!!! I'm so excited by this I just had to share.

Interesting.....very interesting......wait Im on an island surrounded by salt water!!...aaak!! burning water..(dang what do you do then....o.0..)

Well tis rather interesting..Depending on the cost efficiency of the process will determine its applicability....Cus solar energy is potentially unlimited free power..however...Its major $$ to get and maintain..thus the oil giant reigns supreme......
Also can give rise to some Baaad weps...o_o....

"Enemy ship coming your way?..Burning the water around them!"..

ok ..now..Im rlly off....

It is very neat, but after many many years of chemistry and physics, I still find myself going "Duh", as I know if you put enough energy into water (in this case, the salinity just makes it all the more succeptable to currents being induced by the RF), you get it to dissociate. And having done so, you get hydrogen and oxygen, which when combined and a very tiny kick is given, gives you a fire. This can, and has been done just with sunlight... one of the DoE solar collector units found it out the hard way years ago... they focused enough sunlight on a boiler, and instead of super heated steam, they got a lovely mix of hydrogen and oxygen in the system, which then proceeded to explode and blow the heck out of that system.

Either way, If I were the DoE person responsible for this, I would send a reply back with one question if it were not in the applications... in terms of the total thermodynamics of the system, what is the net difference between the energy spent to produce the RF, and the energy output of the flame. I can guarentee that short of using the hydrogen in a tomak of some sort, you are going to put more into it than will come out of it. It may just be that this is a better way to put in less extra energy. Of course, then there is one advantage to electrolysis compared to this method... electrolysis by its nature separates the hydrogen and oxygen, and this one almost certainly will not.

True that the efficiency may not be there... however, even inefficient power generation that does not utilize non-renewable resources (or very slow ones like oil) would be preferable to less "green" methods. Of course, if you are burning coal to power the RF generator, then we're not making any progress

Well..If it even it is smei effective..even to the smallest degree...it would be logicalk maybe to get ur emf via runnign thorugh another green method...so u get X Energy to prodcue X+Y energy ...so more so as energy in additon too current green method if it isnt effective...

But still very interesting.......hmmm...makes me wnna go to the beach....
