My first run through with Gears it seemed to be everything that it was hyped to be. The graphics are well done, the game play has its own unique flavor. Cut scenes are used to hide mediocre to short load times, the voice acting is good. Its a little over the top with the "gritty realism".
However, my second time playing through on insane difficulty I have run into some annoyances. There have been a few times when the game has completely malfunctioned and would not load, activate the next scene, I have had to load the checkpoint and return to the game, each time this has happened, it has been very close to a checkpoint so it was only a minute to go back and load again.
EPIC has otherwise done an awesome job on this game, I only wish there were more content to the campaign function.

Hmm that is odd, I've played the game three times through with a friend and have never had an issue.... could be the disk. The game isn't too long, but it's a great game. Online play is ok, but not amazing. It'll be coming out for PC relatively soon and they're including new stages in the single player and apparently improved multi-player... so that may be something to look into! But I think they did a great job with the game and I can't wait to see how Unreal Tournament 3 compares to this.

I have no odds with the game play itself, its just annoying when you hit a new chapter and then nothing activates.
The X-BOX 360 seems to be a little disc finicky at times but it always tells me when it needs to be cleaned or whatnot.

I haven't played it too much, but I've had fun when I did. I've especially enjoyed 1v1 splitscreen DM with my younger brother. Most memorable moment: rushing him with a chainsaw, wondering what that beeping noise was, and getting obliterated by the Hammer of Dawn (which beeps when it locks on.)

ah, yeah I had that same problem with my first 360. I just bought it and immediately it started freezing and not being able to read disks. Luckily it was under a Walmart warranty so I got a new one. So far I haven't had another issue, but I heard somewhere that they switched disc drives somewhere along the line... the older being the one that had issues. Good thing for Microsofts 3 year warranty

I found it to be a good game, though the way the screen moves during gameplay is kind of strange, took me a while to get use to it.
I haven't beat it yet but it's certainly fun.
Although when your running past a body and you kick it along with you, thats kinda annoying ;p
I love jumping over walls

Alright so I have Gears of war for the Xbox360 and I am completely stuck on trying to kill Raam. It's just so frusterating. I stopped playing it after I couldn't beat him ten times in a row. I get the after the bats fly thing to shoot but then in no time he's killing me and the AI buddy that's walkin with me. I've tried with the torque bow and the sniper rifle but to no availe. so some advice would be welcome from those of you have gotten through the full game. I've also played Gears of war 2 and I liked that game as well.

Fire, just take cover and pop him in the head with the sniper over and over. You can let him walk right up on top of you and around the corner of your cover before you jump over and run all the way to the other end and repeat. Its hard by yourself but really easy in coop and you still get the achievement. Good Luck
