Going to highschool soon...

Hey everybody, Im going to highschool as a freshman. Im excited, and also nervous. Any advice about what I should be worrying about? Or what I should be preparing for? What were your experiences as a freshman? Yeah, I know, lots of questions, but Im nervous

Try to get involved. I was apart of the yearbook staff at my high school for 3 years. Never regretted a moment of it. Made friends for life.

Homework, homework, homework. Get it done on time and on target and you'll skate. Don't stress too much about any one thing, do what you know and what you've leaned, so that you know you did your upmost.

When you have your chemistry prac, don't mix the black stuff with the blue stuff or else you will score yourself a big fat "F".

Don't hang out with the wrong people so that you can 'fit in'. It will only lead you into trouble. Just be yourself and keep studying. Teachers/professors like it when you go in after class or the school day to talk about homework or lectures. Take notes in class and do the assignments when you first get home. Everything is fresh in your mind and you will get it all out of the way.

hmm even thou hav diff education system i still think this stuff is universal..:
1. dont procrastinate on projects on do them the night b4 ..trust me when i say 30 hrs on 6 hrs sleeep with tests sprinkled in there sint fun....rllly isnt fun...(thou you tend to laugh alot lol...eerm yes..)

2. actualy study...as in.....well study

3. if a class disinterests you and you only do it cus youve got no choice...dont draw random things on desk with chalk or stuff...or theyll ask you stuff..o.0...(*dont stare out the windows either..)....

4. dont be a snob or be little ppl and be nice to the stranger ppl in skool..

..(this point actually appllies ot em being the strange one lol....erm...yeah...moving on..)...

5. dont do stupid things at skool..like jumping off stuff...lighting stuff on fire...jumping throu fire..o.0..(hehe aaah that as fun..)..

6 also take ti form me...actually take stuff out of ur bag ...being lazy and leaving all your books in it doent rlyl help matters..thou it may make a good make shift defensive obj..

and finally dont be bothered over much by the opinions of others so much as to change urs to fit in and not be obssessed with appearance (but dont neglict it.) also study more than you paly..(i still dont do that but eh ..so im a hypocrite) and yeah.....

-EDIT- oh one last thing ..know ur escape routes..

Above all, Enigmatic, we can't give you a bunch of magic advice. We can help, and try to, of course!

But it's all about learning. Sometimes you learn for yourself. Sometimes that works out great, and sometimes that sucks.

Definitely some good advice above... I'd also try and keep an open mind. You'll see a more diverse group of people and teachers in high school, so just be open and accepting to things. I found that I made much more meaningful friendships by trying to get to know a lot of people from different groups. But always remember to be who you are.

School wise, definitely try and form a friendly relationship with teachers... even if it's with ones you're not too keen on, it helps in the long run! Also, the thing that helped me through tests was to create an outline from my notes.... something short that is straight to the point, but gets your mind thinking, it'll show you what you know and what you need to work on. Last thing is to relax

A little trick you can try for a test, the night before when you are studying chew a spacific flavor of gum, or eat a favorite type of candy. Then, during the test, eat that same gum or candy, it sounds stupid, but it works. Memory is tied in to all sensory organs, so it will help you remember what you studied.
