Any idea if this project made any headway?
http://www.disastrousconsequences.com/dcforum/posts/list/2373.page#quick

My school has two servers that are on a local lan, and I would like people to be able to switch between the two. (Right now you can only play on one or the other) I took a look at the LibHTTP and it would take some setting up in order to get it to function properly with a database and I'm not even sure how I would begin to use the ScoreFix mutator (although this wouldnt be a bad idea if i could figure it out because all we play is invasion).

I haven't picked it up, Szlat hasn't picked it up, and I think Druid's dropped the idea for the time being. It's not like he's got copious amounts of spare time to begin with, much less time he's willing to sink on such a seemingly large scale project.

Given certain limitations we try to put on ourselves (IE, leaving as much of the core UT2004RPG mod alone as possible, out of respect for Mysterial), this concept could be "impossible" (note that I mean within our self-imposed limitations). Even if it isn't, it most certainly wouldn't be a quick and easy thing to do.

When we have time to code we've been focusing on either the Engineer class, the polishing off of bugs in the Medic class, or (in my own case) fixing annoyances or bugs in the current code, or enhancing the current code (by which I mean not necessarily "fixing" what would be considered a "bug", but making the code operate in the ways I think it was originally intended).

Only Dru can say if he's decided to drop the concept completely or just push it off until UT3.

I can almost guarantee that neither Dru nor I will invest any time in this. We have far too many things on our plate, and one server is enough for us. Your best bet would be to see if anyone out there is already running 2 RPG servers.

I'd love to do it, but we dont have enough demand for it If you'd like to code it, I'll accept patches

The fundamental problem is this: The first word we learn as children is NO. From that point forward society teaches women that saying no isn't polite, and society teaches men to respect those who wont take no for an answer.

How about the need for optimized saving? If it was in a database format then only certain cells would update thus reducing the lag every time it saves.

I don't think working with LibHttp would be much of an issue. However you would need to re code the rpg player class to override the save function (name escapes me atm but its inherited or called a function directly from object).

Sorry its been a while since I looked at it..
