Time for you to get sick of my bird

I got a new Canon 30D 8.2MP dSLR camera today. This is a new type of camera for me - all sorts of neat things you can do with it. So, day 1's pictures:

Cute little guy. Looks like he is posing for most of those shots. Must like the camera.

He likes me. He hates:

Remotes
Blackberry
Pager
Watch

So much so that he's bitten me pretty hard (in fact, he's in a time out in his cage right now for it) if my skin is too close to the object when he decides to demonstrate his dislike.

Right now he's probably intimidated by the camera. He will come to hate it too, I'm sure. He's a jealous bird.

And that's probably 20 shots out of 200 attempts.

The closer I am without him on my shoulder, the more he wants to be on my shoulder. And with the macro photos, he's probably around a foot away from the lens.

If you haven't been checking, I've been adding more pictures to the non-diving gallery on my website. Amazingly enough, not all of them are of my bird!

I like those nascar shots. But I have to ask, why don't you flickr? It is the coolest site for photographers from all over the world with lots of learning possibilities (and its free, unless you want the pro account). You can check my D80 stuff there too:

I have my own site because I'm quite particular about how the SCUBA stuff is done - it is database driven. Since I have the domain and am paying (not a lot) for a lot of space that I'm not using (and a lot of bandwidth, too), I went ahead and added the gallery to it (it was pretty much a "click" and it was done via the provider's site management interface).

I'm a geek and like the ability to see the back end of my site - I have ssh access to my files/documents.

On another note, July 5 in Daytona is the Brumos Porche 250 at night. I'll be taking the new camera, of course, taking a few pictures and even doing some long exposures. Hopefully I'll also get there during the day and snap a few decent photos in the light.

Nikon coolpix S10 with a 10x's zoom. Costco.com has it on sale til 1st of July.

He'll take a bath in the sink sometimes, and he'll occasionally come into the shower with me. I have a shower perch for him. I usually make a little puddle in my arms (kind of like a cradle) and he'll splash around quite a bit. He tends to get quite heavy, and isn't always ready for that. This time he tried to go from his perch to the top of the shower and missed, and ended up in the bottom of the tub. I picked him up right away and got him back on to his perch.

After the shower, if he's gotten wet, while I'm drying myself off I'll make a little tent with the towel, draping it over my head and arms (kind of like a big nun's habit, I guess) and he likes to hang out underneath. He's weird that way. And then I rub him with the towel a little. He hates that but I find it fun providing he doesn't bite me in the process.

lol....yea biting isnt fun generally..o.0...unless its a burger......mmmmm...burger........
