Before you even read the following, realize that I'm just tossing it out there because I took the time to think of it, I didn't make any consideration for its implementabilty (<- is that a word?). Just food for thought/discussion really.
That said, I was thinking: In maps like Liandri, and especially Waisten, there are spots that are not caught by the out of bounds code, yet are ridiculously easy to defend. So I was thinking, maybe it would be cool to have an enemy specifically designed to smoke out campers.
In my mind, this enemy started out as a floating seed, found a nice spot and planted itself. Then it used Regeneration to grow, sort of like Vamp Gnats except it doesn't self-replicate. After it was fully grown into a plant/flower/venus flytrap/etc., it started teleporting small, exploding seeds near players, sort of like Queen teleports itself ( the exploding seeds would be different from the floating ones, and they can't grow).
The plant would also "set a trans" where it planted itself, and if for some reason it got moved (knockback, monster mover etc.) it would teleport back (no animation for this though). Transing back is not integral to the design however.
Like I said, I'm just tossing it out. Thoughts?

The first idea that popped into my mind was some sort of skaarj that has the ability to throw assault pellets (you know, those little bouncy things the assault rifle can shell out?). They're small, can bounce into small spaces, and if enough are released at a time, can be quite pesky without being overwhelming. And without ever having the experience of coding a new monster myself, I would venture a guess that they would be a bit easier to code than a morphing/exploding/floating venus fly trap (though it's a cool idea)

sounds interesting.....painstacking..but nteresting..i find that on msot maps those spaces are still needed for when the flies are outta control..cus they still get in there.. and sitll overwhelm the entire map..
i like echos idea better too(assult rifle seeds)
wuld work rather ncie ...(seeing those can stun ur character for a half sec..) so yeah interesting...o.0...

I am not an admin, and you really need an admin to clarify the situation.
My understanding is that if you are hiding in a place that the monsters cannot get to, then you are exploiting a fault in the map/code, and risk being banned.
I think Druid created the anti-camper just to give the admins more time to actually play the game when they are online, rather than having to continually police campers. It wasn't for the anti-camper to define what is or is not valid. It just took a load off the admins.
So, I am not sure we need an extra monster to seek out those who are not moving much. It will also pick on people who are in quite valid locations (e.g. top of the towers in faceclassic).
Instead, perhaps we need to remove all the maps with faults in them.
Just a thought.

...I think if the admins/developers/owners had a problem with spots that are "rediculously easy to defend" such as the one in liandri...they would have done something about it long before now...besides I've been in those holes and still been killed many a time by skaarj and queens and titan rocks...

there is no perfect hole!! (in the games).....as in...ive been in the holes...no matter wat map ..no matter where..(ive even bee out of bounds where theres s a gun (wats up wid dat ?) and a couple queens teleported there and fried me to kingdom come.. ..)...
essentially..regarless where you are you can die..(except for this one map where the spawn point is only reach able via death or ghost....and you cant attack from there so yeah...) aside form that amp..regardless where you (or i have ) hide you can and will die...i speak from my experience...(oooh my experiences in dying.. ..)...
so yeah /..ps ..i say making the monster is alot more easier than goin through all those maps..besides...i like face classic.. ..its nice and simple...and the 'hiding spot' is only non accessible to the 'super' monsters (aka queens..titans.....gas bags too but eh .. ..)..
so yeah that my 2¢ on the matter

welll ...actually seeing im not inUS it wuld be 1p-->4c
besides its a penny for ur thought not pence..( as in penny si american as is cent ..pence is british..)

Well see, that's where I see a gray area. On maps like Waisten, there are areas that can be shot at by monsters (though without much success), and can technically be reached by monsters, but only flying ones. And I personally don't think that such spots are within the spirit of the server (though I admit I've used them too.)
Anyway, I'm gonna go put up a request that Familyroom be removed from the playlist...too many hiding spots that are nigh-unreachable by monsters, too many superweapons, too many giant piles of pickups.

I would suggest as a general rule that if you have to use a translocator to get there, or are in a location a skaarj cannot get to, then you need to be careful and think about it. Are the few extra points worth the risk?
A place that can be reached by skaarj but not by titans is fine imho. Stay there and shoot the titans.
And a place that is easily defended, say with only one entrance, is also fine.
Hiding out of sight, out of reach and throwing mines is definitely not on.
(but again I clarify I am not an admin. They need to rule on it)

i agree (thou if its tall enough queens will teleport anywhere..i mean..even mid air ..o.0.....
( *flying raptor in vinv* .."la de da de dum *queen appear s and srpays...explsoion*...o.0.....wait wat i blinked....im dead?..)
um moving back on topic i admit to look for hiding spots whenever i enter new map .(but eh thats cus if ppl hide there that means i can heal there so they can go back out in the game..)
and most 'spots' can be reached by skarj's i believe ..(familyroom included for some of the spots..thou they tend not to go in the spots unless there are few players....) thou i find ti so annoying when im by ammo or wep..theres a skarj attacking me but yet...im out of bounds...grr..
