That's so cool Wombat, no concerts near me  but I'm still holding out on seeing them sometime.... I'm sure that concert is going to be amazing and it's right after their new CD will be released!!!

Yep! Actually, if you hit their website, you can get a free mp3 of their new single "Constant Motion". It's about 12.5MB, 256kbps, 7 minute song...very cool stuff. Reminds me of 6 degrees... you should check it out!

There is a pretty good chance I will be going to see Tool in Milwaukee july 4th. Not a big fan, but the wife and her best friend are going and she wants to include me. Wish it was like Rob Zombie or maybe Metallica, AC/DC would be awsome, but I dont think they tour the states anymore. Not a big modern alternative rock/metal fan, but I do like some of it.

That's awesome. Let's hope they don't cancel on you again, eh? What a fluke....They won't want to experience the Wombat Wrath a second time. No one has yet to survive THAT.
On another note: I haven't listened to my Dream Theatre CD's for so long. I think I shall get them out for tomorrow.

dont even ahve to check if there stoppign here there arnt.....the only few " bands" that woudl ever tour out here are reggae..aaand...gospel...aaaand calypsol..(not a fan of that :S..)
so im yet to ever go to legit concert..(unless you count that one i got dragged to yrs bakc wiht pinao etc..)..
but yeah not here either...

Ok, that was by far the best concert yet for me, and I've seen around 50 bands live. If you're a fan and haven't seen them live yet, DO IT! I assure you, you won't be even remotely disappointed. They hit absolutely everything spot on, even LaBrie's vocals were studio perfect through the entire 3hour set.
Some of the highlights, first LaBrie came out, said that Utah's Governor Huntsman was at the show and had been backstage, apparently a fan, and named today (Jul 30th) "Dream Theater Day" in Utah! Then, during a couple of their songs, Rudess the keyboard player came out with one of the old handheld guiter-style keyboards and did a match solo with Petrucci!
And then, THE Encore. Instead of just doing a song or 2, they came back on stage (With Portnoy proudly displaying his new Utah Jazz jersey) and did a 10+ minute medley that had about 6 of their songs in it and wrapped it up with the final verse and close of Octavarium! Finally they ended, walked back and forth on the stage psyching up the crowd, did a full theater style group-bow, and walked off. But yeah, when it was done, everyone was just in awe of the performance. The crazy thing was, they didn't take a single break for the entire show, it was just one after the next, 'cept when they stepped out before the encore.

Anyway, yeah! If you have the chance, go! Even if it's a few hours or states away! Heavily considering the platinum pass next time...
