Hello Folks
I have used computer parts in good condition and want to sell them. My computer guy thinks $175 - $200 Canadian funds. Please let me know if this is a good deal. I was thinking of selling them on eBay myself but i do not know enough about parts to sell them. I might get questions that I cannot answer. I kept the case and HD.
Thank you Yvonne

I can agree with the price he said. $200 Canadian is about $178 in American dollars, correct? Your CPU is about $50-$60 or so, which isn't bad. The motherboard is around the same probably. The video card and sound card won't be worth a lot, though. I have the same video card and sound card on my computer, by the way. I'm not sure about the RAM, though. I'm sure others will have more information then I have, however. I'm taking a guess.

That sounds about right to me too, but your best bet is do some searching in ebay for those same items and get a round about idea what people are willing to bid, then you can set a starting bid or buy now for yourself easier and let the bidding commence. Oh, like Cham said, the video and sound cards probably won't go well, but if you put a decent price on the mobo, ram, cpu combo people will think your "throwing in" the sound and video for free. (You may even say that in the listing. "mobo, ram, cpu combo! win the bid and I'll throw in this sound and this video card AND a 465 watt ps FOR FREE!") If you say free anywhere in there someone is gonna bid, people can't resist free...

Great suggestions, thank you so much for the help. If you guys think I am getting a fair price I will just sell the parts to my computer guy. He is going to rebuild and sell for $750. If he offers less than $200 I will give them to someone that really needs a computer and cannot afford it.
My new computer is very quite and is running well though I have not been gaming. Things have been hectic and I hope to see you all on line soon.
I have till Monday to make up my mind any so if anyone else has any suggestions I look forward to a reply.
thank you Yvonne

Hello Folks
My computer guy wants to pay me $150 for parts which is $135.00 US funds. It went from $200 to $150 overnight like my new video card went from $700 to $849.00 overnight. He already over charged me on my computer by at least $500 and broke the deal we had. I want to wash my hands of him and get the parts back and have him fix some items.
He is toast!

He doesn't sound like a very good person. Don't do business with someone that is going to treat you like that. Did he really charge you that much money for a video card or are you being sarcastic?! You should purchase your parts online from places like newegg.com or zipzoomfly.com. I haven't had any problems with them and their prices are good. You can usually get free shipping as well. Building a computer isn't hard either, just takes a little time. I won't go to computer people because they charge too much, so I just do everything on my own. Just run prices you are getting through this forum because people here will be honest with you.

Chameleon: That is what I paid I trusted him to be honest as I bought my first computer from him. I was to pay $180 parts and $150 to put them in the computer. He has had my parts since February and needs to fix a port so I just want him out of my life.
Demonslayer: Thank you so much for the prices. I have been waiting a long time to get my parts back since we had our initial emails . He now tells me something is wrong with my video card. He has not told me what is wrong though I think he is saying this to reduce the worth. He plays email tag with me he does not phone and it drives me crazy.
Thanks Yvonne

And you wonder why I do my own work on my PCs!!!!!!!!! And my experience/abilities are not even close to a lot of the other players on this server as to PC repair skills or building new PCs.

I would put it as a bundle for anyone who wants to get started without a large investment. Start it at $250 - 275 or so, but remember, when sold, percentage goes to eBay, or, ask people around, put an add in the paper. Maybe those of us may know of someone who would like to build something for cheap.
Actaully, it's pretty close to what I run now
You can even look into http://www.compren.com/ and see if there is one close to you. They do buy used equipment.
