Shan and I recently finished this game and our overall impression... Quite the dissapointment.
The game itself is overly simple for an RPG, following in the steps of such game titles as the Lord of the Rings. & Narnia. There are no derivations in the single-track plot throughout this game.
There's an entire lack of serious subquests, there is wanton human slaughtering that you cant prevent. The plot, if you'd consider this plot, leaves much to be desired.
The items in this are overly simplified. The RPG aspects are entirely dumbed down. The fighting has an entertaining idea by presenting combos to do more simple magic and fighting skills, however, since they all appear to do essentially the same damage to everything, this is more of a press X and [] as quickly as possible and cause various events to occur.
The entire game's plot really appears to be about the mage. The warrior and scout are almost entirely left out.
By far the worst aspect is the camera angles... often you can't see your characters at all while your view is entirely blocked by trees. It advertises 720p, but while the console is putting out 720p, I'd guess the game was being developed for the PS2, and the 720p was a last minute add on to make it for the PS3.
The game is good for about 15 play hours at the most before you defeat the end boss, not much more. Also, you wont find yourself returning to this game to play it again.
We started the game on easy, thinking it would be like the Bauldurs gates, and you needed to start on easy and level up. This would have been a mistake, except about 20 minutes into the game, when we considered switching difficulty, we decided we'd rather finish the game as quickly as possible and then trade it in used, obtaining something else entirely.
The only redeeming thing about this title is that it is a multilplayer RPG.
Overall rating? I'd say less than ordinary. If you need a multiplayer RPG, this is a rental at the best.

The fundamental problem is this: The first word we learn as children is NO. From that point forward society teaches women that saying no isn't polite, and society teaches men to respect those who wont take no for an answer.

Now that I've given it a blistering review, if anyone would like to purchase our copy, send me a PM. We can probably trade it in for around $30, so that plus whatever shipping is to you.
