For those of you who may have heard in the news, there was a shooting at a local Utah Mall.

AFAIK, no Utah DC players were involved in the incident. I've read the names of the victims, and do not believe that I know any of them.

This is a popular mall, in the middle of the Salt Lake area, and the only mall that Shantara & I visit with any frequency. If we had visited it last night, we would likely have been there at exactly the time this happened.

We're thankful we weren't there, relieved that none of the local DC community was harmed, and grateful that the police responded as quickly as they did.

Please, take a moment of silence for those who were harmed as a result of this tragedy.

My and my families deepest sympathies to those involved with this tragity. And my hearfelt thanks to fate that none of our close community friends were injured.

My heartfelt sorrow at the loss of innocent lives again, grateful that no members of DC were killed or injured, and unfortunately, situations like this still manages to conjure up memories of the nightmare at Columbine High School.

This was pretty scary since my new job is about 2 blocks from where it happened. I'm glad it was under control quickly and I hope the media doesn't drag it on for the sake of the families. Even though it will take time, I hope they are ok sooner than later.
