Hey folks,
Just thought I would let you all know where I am, in case I don't make it in much these next couple of days. I just got my new system yesterday. I actually ordered it two Mondays ago from a local wholesale place here in town (which believe it or not, even sells to Tom's Hardware) and picked it up about a week ago. But when I picked it up that time, I knew it was half-baked, as I needed to clone my old XP partition over onto the new system drive so that they could update it for the new hardware. (I had to do this myself, as my old machine is also my main workstation which I use when I work, and no drive = no work). There are still some issues afterwards, such as the repair install having nailed my old account, and I now cannot get at my old files, but I hope to get that resolved this weekend, and then watch out!!! This is one very hot system... Asus P5N32, a hot new Core 2 Duo CPU (2.1GHz IIRC), 2GB of RAM, and a GeForce 7950GT. The techs said the frame rate was awsome, and it should allow me to render my movies on almost no time (it also has dual DVD drives, including a DVD+/-RW DL burner)! I even broke with my functional but plain pattern (most of my systems are actually rack-mounted, but my others are in plain full-tower cases) with the Thermaltake Xaser V case in a wonderful blue, with a window on the side, and blue LED fans. I may even at some point go for a case light, maybe even a UV one with UV reactive cable wrapping. Looks hot, and I will post a pic soon if folks are interested.
Well, got to get working on it. Need to get Fedora, NetBSD and QNX loaded on it as well.

Grats on the new setup.
You are gonna love it. I just spent a few bucks on my system, and actually have something pretty similar. I went with the exact same processor. These new Conroe Core 2 Duos are pretty slick.....and fast, fast, fast. They allow for some great multi-tasking as well.
Picked up the new 7900GS vid card and it performs beautifully.
The only snafu with my setup was the motherboard/memory combo I bought. I went with an Intel board with their new-ish 965 chipset. I had read that the 965 chipset is a bit picky when it comes to DDR2 800 memory. There were a few stories of people getting the dreaded B.S.o.D. or worse, even when using Intel-approved memory modules. Thankfully I didn't have any issues.
Anyways, have fun with the new toy.
Cheers!

Cool! post the pic
I'm hoping to get a new system within the year but need to buy a hd and box to setup a server from old spare parts first (can't stand dual boots and I need to get familiar with linux again anyways)...
[edit]
btw... where did you get yours? I'm in Indy so its somewhat near by.

The place I deal with is Pyrinex (http://www.pyrinex.com), and they are over on the east side of Columbus (a few hours away from you, but still just a day-trip). Don't take their prices on the web site as gospel. Prices are changing fast enough and they have not yet unified their web server with their inventory system, so prices may be lower. Give em a call or drop em a note and tell them that Doug N sent you.
