How to show images in the threads...

Okay now. For those wondering how to show the picture in the thread instead of having to attach a file and using the downloading thing, do this.

Please make sure your pictures do not break the Horizontal scroll. To be sure of this, just make the file 640x480 in size. You can resize it by using Microsoft Paint and clicking on Image, then Stretch/Skew, then stretching it down in equal numbers (i.e. 50/50 in stretch to make it half the size) to get it down in size.

1a. You can register and all your pictures will be tracked or...
1b. You can not register and still do it but i dont know how long till they delete the picture. I recommend 1a., registering.

Note: Once you register, KEEP the registration email sent to you. You log onto their website by clicking the registration link in the email. So keep the email! And best of all, this is all FREE!!!!!!!

2. Upload the picture you want everyone to see.

3. It will automatically take you to the next page that provides the link information. Next you scroll all the way down to the second to last link which reads "Direct Link to Image". Copy that link. Now you can use the link for whatever you want.

4. Make your thread in the forum and then paste the link. Then highlight the whole link and click "Img" located up where the bold, italic and underline buttons are.

5. Preview your thread and you should see your picture.

P.S. The credits on the Imageshack is used for mass image hosting and stuff. What we do here is all free. Just remember to look for "Upload another image" at the top left (I know, I got confused at first but I found the link to go back and submit more pictures).

Make sure if you are posting pics in your post that you don't break the H-scroll rule. I did this at one time and got harshed upon =)

i.e. don't put in big pics that people have to use the horizontal scroll to see =)

using this website i believe they resize it if its too big.. but i'm not sure.
the pic above is made at 640x480. And i believe that is the minimum size to upload.

Would be nice to have a option for a smaller (256x256) thumbnail. Or just make it so it does that to all images. Its much more freindly that way, no one gets in trouble for stuff being to big

I hope I wasn't doing something wrong with the pictures I put up for the movies

Just wondering because I'm seeing this thread after I've posted pictures from different movies.

So I don't have to open my email program then search for the email they sent I just copied the link from the email and made a new bookmark (favorites for IE users) and pasted that link in there.

I wonder what these pictures do to storage space on the server.

I tried that. doesnt seem to work after you turn the computer off. i tend to get an error on the website. You want to know whats even more weird, I copied the link into my yahoo notes so all i do is go to "My Yahoo" and there is the link. I copy and paste it into IE and it don't work. But when I open the note and THEN copy the link and paste it, it does work.

these pictures are being hosted on a different server. not DC's server.

also, if you guys decide not to post this way and decide to just download it onto DC's server, at least go into MS Paint and save the file as a .jpg and NOT a .bmp. Saving it as a .jpg turns a 1.5 MB .bmp into a 150k .jpg. Much better compression.

Hmmm, it worked for me in both browsers even though I reboot. It takes me to all the images I have there.

ok. i been doing this at work so maybe the smart-filter is stopping me from doing certain things.
