WEB HOSTING

Web Server or web hosting . . . I sorry that i havent been on for a verry long time but UT crashed on me :( but any way i made this topic to ask of some help . . . I need to know how you have made this server on UT and how you did it. why ? because i am getting a web host and mabe a server to run for UT. and I need to know how you guys did it so i can make one exactly like yours. if i can get it up and running i will have one or two of my server run for Disastrous consequences so you guy can have more player and so i can have a server. This way we all win! ! I need to know how to u get a server to run UT what web hosts can do it. . . HOW to handle the server with multi game running off one server / web page. How to Set Up. . and How to get your mods to run "if all else works" im want to know if i can use http://ipower.com/index.html or http://ipowerweb.com/products/webhosting/index.html to do it on. . if so which plan if not which one do i need to use. . . Sounds like a lot dont it :) I wont be able to post much on here but i have Messangers so plz "anyone" give me a buzz . . . By no means do I want to get down on this idea, however, we did a lot of shopping before we but this whole thing together. The first thing is that you need a lot of bandwidth. Outgoing and incoming. In 213 days of uptime, the server has pushed this much traffic: RX bytes:519210779104 (483.5 GiB) TX bytes:2056374378870 (1.8 TiB) So from an ISP standpoint, that's 2.2 TiB of traffic in 213 days. Most ISPs charge by the GiB of traffic, so you'll want to check into that closely. Also, you can see the MRTG Page here: http://www.disastrousconsequences.com/mrtg As you can see in the last day we've had peaks as high as 2.6 mbit outgoing, but it's been peaked as high as 7mbit outgoing in the past.. especially after we put up new maps. Next, you'll need a server with a lot of horsepower. This node is a AMD 64 3700+ and as you can see from the MRTG page, when the server is full, we push the CPU right ot the limit. I'm guessing your run of the mill webserver wouldn't be able to take the pummeling. Ram of course.. we have a gig and a half. UT doesn't use much but the other services on the server do. sounds like a lot of work just for one man to do :shock: it sounds as if i wont be able to get it up by all this info ill still try though i also thought that you guys would be more into this idea . . . :lol: but it all in good fun eather way :lol: i gess if i cant get a mod like u have i will just open a basic ons server with RPG stats if i can although i assume that i will need help with that . . .

There's no license limit on the code that I've written nor is there on the code that Mysterial has written. You're welcome to set it up on your own server. I'd start with www.unrealadmin.org as a place to read up on stuff and things
