I was bored, so I figured I would throw a couple of pictures up here. These are a few of the animals in my little zoo that are around now and a couple that I had in the past.

One is of my cat. She is called a white bangel, but she is basically a mutt (don't tell her that, though). She is really really friendly. She likes to talk, which is actually another way of saying she demands things. Sometimes she will jump up on my keyboard, but that's okay. She also acts as a heating element on cold nights.

The second picture is my German Shepard. She's a cool dog. She just gets into trouble a lot. She likes to test my patience sometimes.

Couple more...

One is of my Bearded Dragon. He is really cool. Very friendly and easy to handle. He actually likes to be held and rubbed under his chin. He has actually fallen asleep while I've done that.

The second one is of my Panther Chameleon that I used to have. He died a few years back from an infection. I had him for about eight or nine years. He loved being held. He would actually get up on his hind legs and reach up towards you. I would just put a finger down towards him and he would grab on and climb up to the top of my head and sit there.

One more. This is my veiled chameleon that I had for about five years. He died from a lung infection. I know, I know, both of my chameleons died from infections. That is something captive chameleons are prone too, especially lung problems. They still lived pretty long lives, though. They only live about five or six years in the wild. I got this one from a college roomate that I had. He didn't want to have him anymore and he wasn't treating him very well. He used to just open up his cage, grab him, and yank him off of a branch. So, he became afraid of people. So, I didn't handle him much so that I wouldn't stress him out. I kept him away from people. This picture shows his threat display. He has his body laterally compressed and is showing the dark coloration (side note: chameleons don't just change colors for camoflauge, they use it for communication).

What a great idea for a post. Great pictures too Cham, I've always wanted a little chameleon, or a big one, it doesn't matter. I did a monstrous report on them for a Wildlife Biology class. I know the teacher enjoyed it.

So here's a question...are we allowed to post imaginary pets? I don't exactly have my Dane just yet.

I'm not wacko!!! *twitch*

B_B

PS> I'll post my real pets (Yes, they're really real) in here as soon as I get a photo scanned.

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO what a ride!"

I've been wanting to get a snake, but never got around to it. A person I used to work with a while back at this one petstore had a HUGE albino burmese python. He was really cool! Ummmm, I would say he was about fifteen feet long. He weighed a ton!(not literally a ton, of course) It took three of us to carry him. I tell you, you really don't know the strength of a snake till you have held one this large. I had his tail end while we were carrying him and he wrapped around my waste (not to hurt me, just to hang on). When we were putting him down, I tried to unwrapp his tail from my waste. I couldn't even budge em. Just pure muscle.

I've also had a lot of fish tanks, too. Both fresh and saltwater. I have to have living things around me. I hate living in a place that is just furniture and walls. I don't have a tank right now, but I just put a pond together in the backyard. I have some koi, fantails, and some mosquito fish in it. I'm not done with the pond yet, but here is a picture of what it looks like as of a couple of weeks ago. It is a little different now. Just more of the stones are put in place now and more plants are put into place. The aquatic plants are already bigger. I'm wating for the lilies to flower. They look really cool.

The Colombian Red Tail Boa is named Junior, he was ten inches long when I got him, after his first year he was a little over six feet, the Savannah Monitor is named Godzilla, he was about eight inches nose to tail when I got him two years ago, he is a little over two feet now. Godzilla has been shedding pretty much for 18 months now.

Yah, those ball pythons are good snakes to have. They are really calm and easy to handle.

I didn't do the whole thing on my own. I did most of the pond itself, but not the surrounding area as much.

Your snake looks really healthy! I love the eyes on them a lot. Do you handle them both? Those monitors can be a little testy if you don't handle them and the bites can hurt.

I wish I had some other pictures I used to have. I used to have all kinds of animals sitting on me when I would walk around the petstrore helping people. I got in trouble one too many times, though. I freaked out some people when I would either have a tarantula or a snake of some kind on my arm. I even had a customer complain about having a blue/gold macaw on my shoulder. So, I couldn't have any of the animals out of their cages. I hated that rule. The fact that we handled them made them more used to people, but what do I know?

You had a rule like that there?!! Wow...mine didnt, used to keep my Burmese python , with was about 4 feet, on me at all times, i would ask the costomer if it bothered them, if it did i would put him away but thats about it. We used to have a peach cockatoo that would curse when he got mad. We had taken him from these people not knowing it..but soon found out! We would try to lock him in the back room but it was funny to see people walk by the door and just stop with a confused look on their face when they heard it! He ended up having to go back to that family because of it tho. He was really sweet when he wasnt cursing!

Cpl- your snake is beautiful! they are one of the strongest snakes! Very powerful! I will get another one here soon but i cant have one that will get too big... i dont want aleya to get bitin. Is your monitor nice? Most of the ones i have known can be pritty vishious!
