Very nice setup.

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit - OEM

The OEM version is what is sold to New Equipment Manufactures and does not have the bloatware the retail versions have. In other words it's a clean copy of just the operating system.

Also the OEM is less expensive due to the license agreement. Microsoft does not offer any support for this product. It is the equipment manufactures responsibility to support it. I.E. Me

Microsoft will give 90 days of support for the retail version at of course an extra cost of the retail version.

In other words the OEM version cost me $79.00 on sale at New Egg

The computer is running now! It's just running with the Intel HD Graphics. It will even play UT-2004 with out the graphics card.

Yes it is a screw-less case as far as the drive bays.

The case sells for $49.99, I got it on sale with the Rosewill Hive 650wt Modular power supply for $109.00 with free shipping. The power supply normally list for $89.99

Picture of the backside before I finished tiding up the wiring. Also a sales picture of the case.

well I'm thinking of doing a close/cash out of a workers comp claim and get like 8.5k so I'll have some money for a new rig..( told wife if I did it I WOULD build me a new comp!) Now all I gotta do is start drooling and decide what i want in it, let alone what case! And fountunatly the move I did put me about 1 hr away from a Fry's store in Sac!

The first decision you have to make is which processor family you are going with. Intel or AMD. I've only had one computer with the AMD processor and it was an off the shelf purchase for my wife. I never did care for the AMD's.

The the choice is which processor. The Sandy Bridge chips all seem good. All use the 1155 socket including the Sandy Bridge I3 through I7.

But don't count out the Pentium chips that are available, the g630 I'm using is running at 2.7 ghz and is only drawing 65 watts of power and I paid less than $60.00 for it. The Mother board and cpu I chose played UT-2004 with out a graphics card.

Now the hard choice, Motherboards. There at tons of them out there. The Z68 series seem to do everything out there and depending on the board they will support the Sandy Bridge to the new Ivy Bridge processors.

The biggest money I spent on one item was the graphics card.

New Egg is a good place to browse, Also get on there specials E-mail list they have good specials ever week.

well I am currently running a amd 1700+ that runs at 1.47 ghz with 1.5 gig mem and a ati 1050 vid card w/256mb and this system is like the bottom side of UT's range for play! and it's not even in the list for ut3 but I can play the demo to a point.

need a new case with front ports..kinda like the idea of a bottom mounted PS. but basicly need to make a all new system.
