Playing Invasion with two or more characters at once

I saw some players to play one of their characters while letting their family relative (or a friend) to play other character. Eg: O-dawg, --Camper-- .
Is that considered as cheating?

I dont have any friends and I couldnt talk my brother to playing with me daily, so I used two computers to play both of my characters, then I found a way to even run two ut04 at one computer. I usualy make a base with my engineer and then hide in turret to get additional protection. I leave turret and heal sentinels, other's people shields or link a turret as it is needed. While there is nothing to do I switch to my other character and kill monsters.
Is that considered as cheating?

DemonSlayer saw both of these cases and he did seem ok with it, but Locrian accused me of cheating, so I am rather asking if it is acceptable.

Unfortunately Sokoro, this is not acceptable and can be (and will be) considered cheating. We have had this issue crop up more than once.

As to my noticing the situation, if I knew it was happening, I would have addressed the issue at that time. However, please understand that when I'm playing, I do not always have time to police everyone.

For your information, the "dawg pound" has several members who play together and was introduced to this server by a couple of long time members of the community who are related to them.

Please remember, one player, one character at a time. Period.

Just think, how fast can I level up my low level players by using my almost 700 level player? Would that be fair to other players who rise thru the ranks step by step? I'm not saying that you would but "perception" rules.

I dont see connection to that post you linked and that sentence about your 700lvl character. I am not killing my high level in DM..
I did just play Invasion with both of them because game is supposed to be cooperative and the server is mostly empty when I join (most of players are americans, but I am from europe), while bots are almost everytime dead when it comes to wave 4 and above.
So I thought of joining with two characters at once, so they could help each other.

I am thinking of cheating like an unfair advantage.
But what I did isnt advantagous, in my opinion, because I am not getting as much xp as I would, if I would focus on one character only, it just make game more enjoyable for me. I dont even think it is unfair, because everyone is able to do that..
All you need is original and updated version of UT04.

But, if you still find it wrong, then I wont do it anymore.

The thought is that you are playing two or more characters at the same time, thus enabling the possibility of cheating -or- the perception thereof.

Please do not play two or more characters at the same time. This is a bannable situation and if any admin, myself included, sees it during play or sees it during a review of the logs, a ban WILL be imposed.

it also violates one of the server rules. if you're playing one character, that means the other character is idle, which is against server rules. your best bet at lvling a lower lvl character would be to find someone such as me or ton who would be nice enough to let you use our turret while we link. im always more than happy to let someone use my turret, and a few other engineers on here do the same. i actually prefer having an AM run a turret, since they spawn with a triple damage. saves me from having to run around frantically killing stuff to find one and leaves those trips for WMs to pick up.
