I have browsed and searched this forum, but I can't find any info about how to acquire the subclasses for Engineer. It is not an option in my {L} Menu.

As a level 102, am I just not far enough along?

Anyplace that there is documentation so I can do some research?

Thanks...........

Open up the L menu. There should be a heading near the bottom saying "Subclass: None". There should be a "Sell" button directly across from it. Press this to sell the skills you've bought in exchange for the stat points you spent on them. This will force you to reconnect. Once you reconnect and all skills are set to zero, you can now press the "buy" button to purchase a subclass.

It's important to note that you need to buy the subclass first before spending any points on skills, because the subclass you select will determine which skills are available to you. Prior to buying a subclass, all the abilities for the normal Engineer class are available, so if you just go ahead and buy those skills, you're essentially "choosing" to be a vanilla Engineer like you've always been.

Hmmmm, Luc and Loc--what a combination

Thanks for the reply. It sounds like you kind of have to wipe everything out, and start new. Is there a terrible disadvantage to just being a vanilla engineer?

I think I will mess around with my Weapons Master character, as that is kind of an experiment, and when I know more I'll try it with my Engineer.

Also, I'll use this thread to document what I find; I'm sure someone else will have the same questions.

Yeah, DS I added the signature and Avatar so you guys would know who Commodus was. When I started playing in, .....gulp, 2000 everybody remembered the movie, and "got it"; not so much anymore.

I should really be "much better" than what I am, as long as I've been playing.

Used to be in a clan.

You would have seen me as «XCG»Commodus

Those were a GREAT group of guys (and a few girls). As far as I can tell, none of them play UT anymore, though some of the folks I know still play on the <CTC> clan server (VCTF).

I want to go back and start playing there, but they will kick my ass (as long as it's been since I played VCTF).

Thanks again, Locrian. I hope to get a microphone going here, and be more active with DC. I think you are a great group of guys, as well.
