Boingo got me the sharp shooter for the PS3 a couple of weeks ago. Because of school and work, I've only tried out a couple of times. However, I have an initial review I could give.

Background: For those of you that do not know what he sharp shooter is, check out http://us.playstation.com/ps3/accessories/playstation-move-sharp-shooter-ps3.html

First, I found it is pretty important to calibrate the controls each time you play. I'm still not sure if I have the right lighting in the room here or not. The game I have that can use the sharpshooter is Killzone 3. I've never played the previous ones, so I don't know much about it. Anyway, I have the navigation controller, which sits in the front part of the shooter device and that controls your walking direction, zoom, reload (you can also use the button that is underneath where the magazine would be if the sharpshooter were a real rifle), grenades, weapon switching, etc. There are other buttons around where the trigger is. The button below the trigger is for kneeling and there is also two other button along the side. One is for jumping and I don't remember what the other one is for. To look around, you just point the rifle to where you want to look. This is where the settings you choose make a big deal. You can adjust the 'deadzone', meaning, how far on the side of your TV do you need to point before you begin to turn. Also, there is a setting which determines how quickly you will turn. I felt this was the most time consuming part. At first, I didn't have a clue as to what settings I would want or need. So, when I tried the game, I was spinning all over the place. I found that having a deadzone of 0%-10% works well. It gives the effect that you have a virtual mouse, in a sense. The actual shooting is the fun part. You can point the rifle and pull the trigger. Each press of the trigger also activates the rumble effect in the move controller which you can feel through the whole rifle. My only gripe, is my controller loses its tracking after about five or ten minutes. I've read, from other people's opinion, that this happens. Most of the reviews show a flawless use of the move controller and sharpshooter. This is partly why I wonder if my lighting in the room is bad or something else. However, I've found that if I point the rifle down and the ground and bring it back up to the screen, it seems be better.

The rifle itself seems to have a fairly good build quality. It is, of course, plastic with an adjustable stock. The plastic is pretty thick, so it feels pretty rugged. However, I wouldn't want to throw it around or step on the stock if it were sitting on the ground.

Overall, I would give the sharpshooter a good rating. It defenitely is fun, when it is working the way it should and you have the settings to where you are comfortable. However, since I've only played it a couple of times, my opinion could change.
