short and sweet...

Why don't medics get adren based on healing?

drip is ok, but everyone else gets adren based on kills.... medics shouldn't be encouraged to kill.


I think it's a good idea.... =)

I would say either extreme medic or AM/MM hybrid...the normal class is ok the way it is

The problem I see is that a Medic isn't motivated to heal others. Well, they are, but only some. I can only name one pure medic... and that's Wayno... always has been... I try hard to play pure medic (focused on healing only), but it just doesn't work for any decent kind of xp.

If I was playing Medic class and didn't get adren for killing, but did get adren for healing.... I'd be a hect of a lot more motivated to heal versus kill.

I have just started to play X Med and it is very much a different game now. With loaded medic 4 I have much faster team healing and much less damage output. Many of the waves I can't kill to save my life but I can live a while in a mob of null warlords.

Any way, I find that much of the map I am hosing down my comrades and waiting for my adrenaline to build up with drip 2. I can easily get 2-2.5k xp a map by running a sphere off and on most of the map. While the others are sharing the monster kills to get 1.5k or less.

I see an healing leach for a medic with loaded med 4 as a good idea to keep him actively helping team mates not just hiding with a lucky to regain adren while running a sphere. This sphere & lucky idea is the same as AM with DD sphere concept which was fixed this build.

I feel that normal medics do not NEED healing leach but it would be helpful. With drip free bee and up to drip 3 medics have plenty of access to adren as it is now.

Lastly, I appreciate the generous amount of experienced healing offered to an X Medic as combo kills are not practical with loaded med 4.

The problem here is you want to be playing a pure medic, and that can only be achieved through the subclasses, either by the current Extreme Medic or (in the next build) MM/ENG hybrid. Whatever the reason, the original medic earns enough xp/adrenaline. Any more adrenal abilities, and it can use them to kill monsters way too effectively, meaning more monsters, rod attacks, or xp. In contrast, if the Extreme Medic were to have those extra abilities, since it is already limited to fighting, it would mainly use the extra adrenaline for more healing blasts/spheres or poison blasts. Also the MM/ENG hybrid (mainly a passive/support hybrid) would do the same.

Medics shouldn't be using lightning rods, triple damage, etc. They should be nerfed when it comes to killing monsters. The boosts should be from healing, not killing (and I'm solely referring to Medics (not Monster Masters). Yes, it's hard with the Monster Master portion. Perhaps that should be a class of it's own and be split from Medic?

Drastically lower the damage they can do to monsters. Removal any adrenaline gaining abilities from killing monsters. Allow them to get in a turret and heal with the turret shooting (still very low monster damage while in turret... or remove ability to use a turret at all unless it's a Medic Turret (which could come with MM/Engi). Anyway.... I wanna go home... else I'd post more =)


I'm just saying....
If yer into the role playing side of the game... Medics are way out of character.

ok you have to kill critters at some point there's no way around that! But! the healing blast heals faster than the globe you just have to point in the right direction when you set it off! and if you ask for adren from ppl and tell them why you want it they usally coff up some to you like the other day with my eng I asked for adren to keep up the shield blasts for the small base I made. there are ppl who make adren so fast that they have can toss adren and be full in a min or two later!
when I play my medic I'm healing with blasts and chase'n ppl down to heal them but I'm wack'n at monsters to to help build up my adren for more blasts also think I was luck to see 1k most times when I played it last week.

but remember if your the only one on and got the bots YOU HAVE TO KILL critters!



Oh and there are others that are medics that are GREAT at healing everyone and they still kick monster butt! I'd say there's about 4-5 ppl that are really good at medic, and they are all over the map looking for ppl to heal and defending themselves from the critters. Even if you hole up someplace in a base or a small defensible spot they usually find you and run up and heal you then off to heal someone else and then they pop up again and shoot you a few time to make sure your healed!

I disagree. =)

I plant the bots in a good spot and let them kill and heal them


I just think the healing medic should focus on healing... not killing.
just my opinion....

I just have to add in here, that there have been multiple times that I have ended up the last person alive due to being able to keep myself healed when no base is set up and its a larger map where people tend to spread out more.
If a Med is the last person alive and you're limiting the damage they can do, that just decreases the likelyhood to finish the wave.
Or when theres only you and bots and you're on a Med to try to level while no body else is really on. You're going to want to kill over heal.
And on lower levels, heals are pretty much unnecessary. As well as when there are multiple Meds on.
As great as it is to want to be a devoted Med, there are circumstances where a Med is not entirely needed and you would be bored and not helpful at all just walking around unable to do damage.
I don't think talking about reducing damage that Meds do to encourage healing is the right idea.
Adren is wonderful, but on my med, I hardly use that much. Nothing that would necessitate more than drip.
