There are very few games that get to you in one way or another. I mean the type of game that sticks with you long after you are done playing it. The type of game that parallels great movies of the same vein.
The original Deus Ex game was one such game for me. The gameplay was great, but the storyline and "alternate reality" future was striking. The game was released in the early part of the decade. Certain aspects of the story eerily preceded actual world events. It was rather spooky.
That game is probably top 5 all time for me.
The sequel was good, not great. And after a few more years, Deus Ex 3 is in the works for next year release. I cannot express how excited I am for this game.
My hope is that somehow they can duplicate the magic of the first game. I don't want multiplayer. I don't want gimmicky gameplay. I just want a high quality sequel that captures the essence of the original. The trailer looks great. It's always hard to match success, but here's me crossing my fingers that lightning strikes twice.
Summit Extra Pale Ale....the best beer known to man.
The game isn't worth it... I too was a fan of the original game, but after reading the reviews for the latest Deus Ex, Im glad I didnt get it. Just read the reviews, you will see what I mean
