new "hybrid" idea...  XML

... or maybe it's a class.. not sure.
I see it more as a hybrid. Maybe one that any class can buy.
Most of it is Engineer oriented, so it could be Extreme Support Engineer or something.

But anyway.. here's the idea:

I'd love to see a "support" role breed. I've not been able to come up with a name that really hit the nail on the head, but here's a partial list of the skill set:

* Inf Link - damage drastically reduced, but more healing power (to support vehicle/turret/sent healing). Also, I'd love to see this breed unable to use any weapon besides trans, shield gun, assault rifle and Engi Link (not even able to pick up). Also, Sturdy trans and link inherit.
* Sentinels: (20 pts or 4 def sents) Defense Sents only. But able to purchase all alternate healings for Def sents (Health, Armor, Shield, Ammo, Adrenaline).
* Blocks - 20 pts
* Barrels and Large Barrels - but instead of damage, they use the DefSent skills and do the same levels. So if I had all maxed, the barrel explosion would heal a little adren, health, armor, shield and ammo.
* Rapid Build, Construction Health, Shield Healing be purchasable also.
* Adrenaline would be received from the afore mentioned.


Main theory... very little xp from killing monsters or damaging monsters. XP is gained from supporting other players and creating a nicely fortified base.
I try to do this with my sent spec, but it gets pretty brutal at times. without being able to shield heal others fast enough and the poison damage now...

thats a nice thought, been kinds think'n about something like that for LOOOOOnnng time since that was one of my main types of play of hanging back, even with my gen char I do more support than critter get'n with no xp for healing

I may be getting old and falling apart but I can sure can raise Hell and have fun doing it!

we have enough camping already
no need to make the bases and those in them indestructible
there are still people out there (like Dom) who will heal without the xp bonus
try a Medic/Engi you get to heal ,defend ,and squish bugs , or the General class

MM/Engi hybrid is a total waste.

General class is fun and I do play it and heal without getting xp for it..

But I'm not just talking about someone sitting in a base and healing, etc.

I'd like to see things like a "rod", but it shields everyone around them. What about another than heals everyone around them. Almost like being a roaming def sentinal.

I have mixed opinions, I agree with acyd and dom since quite alot I just sit back and try to heal as many people as I can in a base but i do sometimes get bored with no big benefit keeping me there since even with exp healing maxed on my medic it is no real comparrison to just going out there and killing things.
But I also agree with roadkill since with all of the classes being able to use all of the hybryds (if over lvl 80) will now increase the amount of people camping and that might be too many and with this 'support class' we may find that it will only be the lower levels that will be out there, if the lvls dont get lowered.
I dont think that the MM/ENG hybryd is a waste since I have a lvl 121 medic and a lvl 41 general so the general is just too weak and I can survive very well as my med who is more based between medic and eng e.g more blocks, an extra def sent, alot more loaded medic and other things like that. Personally I think that the general class is too weak since it can only buy low evels of alot of abilities which might just make it too weak and it will probably max out far too quickly and so the MM/ENG is far better even with the new updates Szlat is thinking about making to them.
