possibly new client mod idea  XML

I'm sure some of you are familiar with "hitsounds" where a game plays a distinctive ping sound when you land your shot. this would really be noisy in a game like ut on invasion where the flak cannon sprays a wild spread that can hit at multiple times on multiple targets. my idea is less constant. sometimes you are shooting at a monster and you see others shooting at the same target. it dies and you wonder if you got the kill. would it be possible to play a ping when the server awards you a kill? obviously the client is notified with the scoreboard, adren count, stats screen, and the monster falling down. would it be possible to make such a mod that makes a ping when a kill is awarded?

what not satisfied with just have'n one less critter to kill on the map you HAVE to know if YOU killed it??


I may be getting old and falling apart but I can sure can raise Hell and have fun doing it!

well yea... its important to know if you can keep a kill combo going to know if you should keep running an artifact

I've played on some servers with hitsounds, players end up relying on them to much, letting you target far away monsters too easily (I mean would you really be able to hear dings from all the way across the map?) Your idea is better than plain old hitsounds though. Glancing down at your xp gauge does pretty much the same thing however.

not really... considering it goes up from getting hits, healing, killing, running other artifacts, getting hit (if you have retaliation). besides its hard to watch your xp meter when you are in the middle of a mess
