I give [Pulse] a 7 or a B, depending how you are scoring lol.

IMDB rates Pulse at 3.8/10 w/ this reviewer to quote:

Like so many tired teen horror films before it, ... "Pulse" has the laziest of horror film ambitions: an endless series of characters making slow, deliberate walks to some sort of random objective (in this movie, it is usually a computer screen) with the steadily rising score beneath their paces. And then, the orchestra crashes, the sound effects are blasted at dangerously high levels, and something (ghost, corpse, animal, landlady, Dick Cheney, etc.) bursts out at the character. Over and over and over.

I'll pass, but thanks!

Hmmmm, I need to get out more. I haven't heard of White Noise either. I guess I am done staring at the walls in my closet now.

You know, I cannot believe that we did not mention the new Bond Movie, Casino Royale. It is a really good one, which I recommend. I suspect the same will be said of Eragon, which I figure we will be seeing Saturday.

Oh, and just got myself a copy of Lake House. Loved the movie, and when I saw it, it had some very special significance which at some point I might share in my blog more publically.

You're not missing anything. This was not one of Michael Keaton's best.

Is that the one with Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves?

yup. I've kinda wondered about that movie myself. The plot seems too bizarre to not watch.

Hmmm, never heard of 'Lake House' either.
I wouldn't mind seeing the new Bond movie, though. I have heard of that one.

I don't think I can bring myself to see that movie. I hope to never truly understand how those people felt on that day. It's just so sad.

Yes I agree, I had to wait til it came out on dvd so I could watch it alone.
I was able to watch it with only a couple pauses in between the movie.
When I rented United 93, it took me about 5 hours to watch it, if you haven't seen that one, you should. Yes, they are both hard to watch, but for me on a personal level, I needed to, although we all know what happened on that day, I needed to watch it for a more personal reason.

Well, the Eragon thing was a total scam so don't hold your breath for the review. They oversold the theater by about 50% so, unless you were there 2 hours early, you didn't get a ticket. Pretty lame...

I don't know how I would handle it, especially given my overall emotional state the past few months. Lake House was halfway bad, especially given that at one point in the movie I was about 30 or so miles north and about 5 miles up from the one friend I most want to spend time with doing sightseeing, chatting and such. (but not bad enough that I did not buy myself a copy this week) Given that I used to be in emergency services (hazmat with some crossover into fire fighting, mass casulty incident response, and communications), and all the bad experiences over many years with that... Indeed, I had family who a few months earlier would have been working in the WTC or Pentagon, and some of my friends from the MCIRT side of things back in Ft. Wayne were in the air in a C-130 within hours of the collapse when nothing else was flying and on the ground at the WTC by late that afternoon. For weeks, I was like the old fire horse who was stuck in the stable... way out of sorts...

But yea, I probably will want to see both of them.

BTW... with that MCIRT, which was a part of what was NDMS, we were the premere team in the nation. We trained for the possibility of the New Madrid quake, deployed to both Miami/Homestead and New Orleans after Andrew, and were even setup in Indy both at the fairgrounds and the track for the Indy 500 right after the first Gulf War. Most intense one for me was of course Andrew, where our first team landed at Homestead while it was still raining on the backside of Andrew, just as soon as they could get a dozer to clear a landing strip. Most facinating...Hmmm... flying in UH-1's from near Indy to Evansville, going over the Crane Naval base, or flying into the infield of the brickyard... difficult choice.

BTW... another movie recommendation... the new Robin Williams movie, NIght at the Museum looks good. And remembering when it happened, I am interested in seeing We Are Marshall. (I grew up just about a 2 hour drive from Marshall U... does not seem like 36 years ago last month...).

You mean Ben Stiller
Been a bit of a fan of his work ever since Zoolander. There needs to be a Zoolander religion. I'll be the pope!

Nope... I mean Robin Williams ...though perhaps we should add in Dick van Dyke and Mickey Rooney . as well Doubt the Robin Williams part... check out http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0477347/... he plays Teddy Roosevelt. That is likely to be a rib cracker...(if you have ever seen his special on HBO... ROTFLAMO!)

And BTW Echo... Nanu-Nanu!
