Those are all really nice! I should start paying attention to the different types of flowers we have in Utah. Some of the flowers in the pictures I've never seen before.

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO what a ride!"

Most of these are very small, ranging from the size of a pinky nail to about a half doller. The newest ones I found just driving down some of the dirt roads around where we camp and in a few forest medows when we went walking. It's amazing what you can miss when your not looking for something. Example- the yellow w/red splotches, kinda looks like a horn. Well, I see them everyday on my way to work on the edge of some wet lands. They just look a single oblong petle in bright orange from a distance, then I stopped and really looked at it and I think it is one of the most beautiful I have shot so far and according to a few people I have asked , it is just a swamp weed!

Well the trip was so relaxing and such a good time. I figured I'd be posting this last night, but we decided to stay an extra day so the trip was even more enjoyable. The auction went very well, the total amount raised was nearly $4000 which exceded what was made at this event five years ago. My yellow flower picture sold for $100 and I was extremely happy with the result! Here's a picture of the final product after it was framed by a local photographer. (I took this at the last moment so the light in the back kind of blocks some of the color out.)

After the auction on Saturday we decided to stay all of Sunday to just enjoy ourselves. It gave me a chance to kayak down the beaver pond we have near us to take a few more pictures.

The first two are Pitcher Plants from what I've heard, they're quite fascinating in that they're plants that eat insects

The really like these last two, but I do like the blacker backround in the one picture a little more.

Well, I finally got my other roll back. Here's a shot of that blue heron. I tried to get him in flight, but he got into the trees too fast.

Oh, and kinda off the topic, here is a shot of the school I work at.

Here's a picture of the Blue Heron I saw over last weekend. I could never get close though, I did get a picture of him in flight, but it's a little too far to see it well.

edit: The school you work at Em, looks exactly like the one I'm working for this summer, what grades is it for?

Well, here are a few more. I had to add in ferrel boy, it turned out sooo good. My son is a nut. Not sure if he's a rabid baboon or a phsychotic gollum critter. LOL (the red eyes really sets it off, and there was no touch up either, was kinda creepy knowing we were sleeping in a tent next to him...)
