UT 3 RPG Identifaction? (how are characters remembered)  XML

Well I was just thinking about the fact that in UT 04 RPG identifies with the name and the matching Cd key to create a permanent character, so to speak....

But with UT3, and correct me if Im wrong as Ive only had Demo so far, but you now have completely unique usernames along with the CD keys...

I say this to ask if in the new RPG is it tied to both username and Cd-key like Ut 04 (which to me ..seems redundant..) or is it tied only to the username as they are unique and noone else on UT3 will have the same one at any given time?

Reason I ask is because if the latter then a player would be able to log on to any UT3 game and be able to play their character....

Sorry if this seems sort of ...out of place?Was just curious...

Everything in my config files just have the ID of the Name listed.

[BattleRPG.BattlePersistentPlayerDatabase]
DATABASE=(Id="xxxxxx<PlayerName>xxxxx",Level=10,XP=9,NeededXP=10) 


and


[BattleRPG.BattlePersistentPlayerBuildDatabase]
DATABASE=(Id="xxxxxx<PlayerName>xxxxx",Abilities=((Id="HealthRegen",Level=1),(Id="Vampirism",Level=2))) 


as 2 seperate config files. Of course I left the playername actual name out.

BattleRPG currently only looks at the username, since that is indeed unique now with UT3. Actually I also have code to look to the Uid but I have disabled that for now. Perhaps I will enable it in a future version if that would ever seem useful.

Well, isn't the Login Username only for the establishment of the GameSpy connection? Am pretty sure that, once inside, the User can change their name or multiplayer name, like UT2k4's 'setname ___' command

No this is not (yet) possible with UT3.

you can however have multiple gamespy accounts and thereby have more than one character.

I intend to just have one and use the buy/sell as long as that option is enabled. maybe later on I will need more.

Yes, but that is not the point here I think. You cannot just change your name in the game, e.g. to the name of another existing player.

But even if someone finds a way around this, BattleRPG does not have a reset button, so you cannot harm someone that way.
