RockBand vs Guitar Hero 3

Let the grudge match begin!

I say Rock Band just because with what you can do with Guitar Hero, you can do with Rock Band, but more. You can do vocals and the drums with Rock Band. I think the online play is better with Rock Band as well.

I went with guitar hero 3... I played rock band a few times and I do really like it... but my favorite thing is the guitar in both games so it came down to that. The songs in Guitar hero 3 are amazing and a blast to play and the difficulty of the game adds to its longevity. Rock band I like, but don't like the guitar in many of the songs as much as GH3 and it seems much easier as well. But either way I like both, but I just like guitar hero 3 a bit more.

To be fair, we don't actually own GH3, but I've seen it at parties. I like Rock Band a lot better because it seems a lot more interactive. People will just walk by if they see somebody playing GH3, but everybody wants to watch and cheer people on in RB.

RB has a greater variety of songs, it's more fun to design a character, and it has more instruments. I agree with Cham- it's like GH, only more fun.

I enjoy both, but like Shan said, RockBand is more of a group game. And it comes equipped to allow more than one person to play at a time. GH3 doesn't since it only comes with one guitar.

This is tough, I don't really like the guitar in Rock Band...and I suck at the drums. There's a few songs that are in both. Rock Band is a blast, and I must admit it is fun to play with more than one person, but you can have Guitar Battles in GH which are a blast!

Now if they get that patch or whatever they need so you can use the GH guitar to play Rock Band..then I'll be able to dominate them both!!! HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! >

Ok, well I can revise my opinion a bit. One of my roommates bought rock band and we've played non stop. I think as a whole it's awesome, the drums are fun but hard... the vocals are probably my favorite oddly enough... but the downside is definately the guitar. I think the guitar is wayyy too picky in rock band compared to guitar hero 3... it just seems to be a bit wonky. I'm hoping Rock Band 2 will fix this and use the same system as guitar hero, if that were to happen it would be by far the best. So right now, I love guitar hero still a bit more, but rock band is definately the best multiplayer game between the two and is a very good package!

I didn't vote because I own neither game, however my roommates just got Rock Band. They've been playing for less than an hour and I'm already not loving the amount of noise the drum set makes. Because... you know... it works out great when you're trying to write a paper that's due soon.

So there's my bias, leaning slightly more towards Guitar Hero

and to those that haven't played it, you have to play it WITH OTHERS to really enjoy it... I agree it can be irritating to hear the drums over and over when you're not playing, but being behind a guitar, bass, drums, or mic is really exhilerating... i had my 23rd birthday 2 weeks ago and we threw a party, had DDR with 4000+ available songs with 2 metal arcade pads and 2 high-quality foam pads... Guitar Hero 2 and 3, and Rockband... we spent an hour total on DDR and GH2/3 altogether... and 5 hours on rockband...

it can include more people, there's more variety, and the way it feels to pull a song off when you're relying on the other 3 pieces of a 4-person puzzle to due justice to the song at hand...

in short... Rockband > Guitar Hero 1/2/3... although in innovation, Guitar Hero wins hands down

guitar hero 3 because i like it.

Ok the kids all got together and got me Rock Band special edition for my birthday. As a mistake one of them picked up a guitar hero 3 guitar/game thinking that it would work as a second guitar in Rock Band, so I got a chance to try them both out at about the same time

When I say the same time, we put them on the same screen, side by side using PIP, I had to port the sound in the second picture and it made it sound tinny but other than that we got a rock off going.

Final decision, I took the GH3 back to Costco and ordered another Guitar for rock band.

Although, it is fun, I still like Rayman 2 for the band section at least as much for the younger kids, and those without the ability to carry a beat like myself.
