Yeah, the Speed combo is poorly written which results in RPG abilities being applied again after it runs out. You can use this to gain double the effect of any ability unless that ability is specifically designed not to double-up on itself (e.g. checks to make sure it removes the effect before applying it).

Just a thought, if there is a strong beliefe that the major of the crash bugs are associated with the NALI, remove them to see of the crashes continue or go away. From there try and find where the bug is. At lease it's a start so we can get thru the map, even if nobody can get Headhunter.....

Minor bugs.

1. I can't see my current level on some skills when the text on the skills ("L") menu is too long. Can the player level be placed inside "info," possibly in the format of [level/maxlevel]?

2. I've noticed newbies to DC take a while to learn that there are classes, and some need told to buy one. Can they be presented with some sort of intro (but not force them to buy a class)? This probably isn't a big issue.

3. Engineers with Engineer Awareness can't tell if players with shields greater than 150 are fully shielded.

4. My translocater breaks when I shoot it within the bounds of another player's ultima explosion (I believe it was cribbage's). I died when teleported.

5. Most vehicles with automatic fire show sounds/animations for a fixed weapon speed rather than a player's increased weapon speed.

6. On some conditions, I can pick up +50 shield boost and go beyond my normal slightly (56 shields currently...I pick up a 50+ and my shields become 106),
and other times, I can't do this. This seems to happen when an engineers heals my shields.

7. When respawning from a ghost or just in general, the message of the day appears. This is a tough and minor hinderance when there are still many monsters in the wave.

8. Some maps cause players to die without a chance to respawn when falling into an abyss. Solvable?

Regarding Dragon's list:
Numbers 3, 5, 6, 7, and 8 have been brought up before (IIRC), and either no solution was found or it was decided that it would be way too complicated to solve them given their relatively small impact on gameplay. Number 2 comes with the territory if the newbie in question has never played an RPG server before. Most are reasonable enough to listen to us when we suggest buying a class; if they don't listen even after multiple reminders, then that's their loss.

Would number 1 be difficult to fix, Szlat? Perhaps just add a horizonal scroll bar to the skills list? I know modifying Mysterial's code is something that is preferably avoided, but that Max button on the L menu is a relatively new addition (build 225, was it?) so hopefully it wouldn't be that big of a headache.

i have also been slightly annoyed at the info in that menu being too long, and just clicked on it and tried to power read it and figure out what i needed for the next lvl

I may be getting old and falling apart but I can sure can raise Hell and have fun doing it!

Apparently, engineers are getting xp bonuses at the end of a game per sentinel built. One base specialist said he received 400 xp at the end, so it may also be counting turrets. Also, monster masters last build were getting the same for pets (an extra 80 for each), and since nothing was changed in that regard for this build, I'm betting it's still going on.

3 maps unfinished--server crashed 3 times--twice during the 2nd wave. Each time was due to a nali--shield gun.

Pretty sure this would need to be addressed by subclassing MutUT2004RPG (although it's an easy change). I've attempted to fix this issue by destroying summoned monsters at the end of the game, or destroying their controller, but I think by the time the pawns themselves are notified of the end of the game, it's already awarded the experience.

I think he is referring to those larger, mostly beige colored sliths.

As far as crashes go, I have noticed the server still crashes under certain conditions. On of them being when I am hit so hard with a rock that I ghost out of bounds. Not sure if the out of bounds thing is a coincidence, or simply a side-effect of the crash, but the last two times I've seen a crash it was due to being rocked into oblivion. Sorry, I'm not very good at recording maps/times. I'll try to make a note of it next time.
