Yah, they both looked good. How long has it been you two? A couple of years now? Those two were made for one another.

What have I done for love? Or more, what has love done for me?...I've learned a lot from love.. For love, I waited to have children, I stayed single, and Never Ever just settled for someone that couldn't give me more than all his true love..Nor have I settle for anyone where I wouldn't be able to give all of mine..
For love, I learned how to be patient and for love I learned how to be strong..For love I've learned how to dance, and for love i've learned how to cry.. I"ve been dumped and heartbroken.. I"ve also been strong and walked away...

Love has taught me a lot...loving someone and allowing yourself to be loved teaches you a lot about yourself if you are willing to learn from the experience..

and then..I met Gordon_Freeman...

Given all that, I'll tell you that Gordon_Freeman and I met after I had sworn off men forever..lol..I had been dumped for the very first time in my life and met Gordon a few months later. At the time we met I was most content to remain single and not date..
But he is soooo darn handsome and soooo darn smart that I just couldn't help myself and neither could he. I remember our first date, we both tried to convince each other that we didn't want a partner.. That didn't last long.. We became two crazy love birds who had to be w/each other day and night and now were on 3 years together.. I moved away from my family for him and relocated my job.. Ok, only two hours away, but Hey NO OTHER man ever got me to do that.. Were going on 3 yrs now. I wouldn't ever trade him in.. And the best part.. Well I can't tell you that because every thing about us being together is the best part..We have so much in common with our likes.. i guess thats because we both don't dislike too many things so it makes life easier for us.. Oh and his mom loves me to pieces.. Which is a complete added bonus in itself.. Woo hoo!
So I could go on forever about it but I won't because I have to leave room for the best that is yet too come....

After reading this, I really wanted to add my recent story in. I had the same experience happen to me. I was dumped out of nowhere and never wanted to deal with that again. I imagined getting a cute little house and just living with my Great Dane, cat and a few little lizards and snakes.

Then suddenly, I met this guy. He is so nice and he loves animals and mushrooms! We have so much in common, its insane. We met face to face in August (Yes, its an online ordeal) and things just got better. He's fun, caring, sensitive, supportive. Here's a little story. When he was visiting we were in a little wreck (NOT MY FAULT...grrrrrr), I was so upset my White Wonder got an owie. He was doing everything possible to help and didn't leave my side. Then he bought a mushroom and cheese omlette for me.

This past weekend he flew me out to Lake Tahoe to hang out and meet his family. It was a blast and things got better again. He had a rose waiting for me in the car after he picked me up from the airport. We've done everything from hiking to lounging on the couch watching Napoleon Dynamite with some Ben&Jerry's in front of a fire to dancing in a club to 80's music to playing UT together....yes, folks. He is a fellow DCer! Some of you already know, but it's Chameleon.

I've only had two guys hanging around, but he makes me feel totally different, which is a good thing. As I've said, Two Wastes of Time....Cham definitely isn't and I couldn't be happier. I'm only too happy to brag.

So yeah, there's my little story. Here's a picture of us. He programmed his little camera to take this when we were at Emerald Bay at Lake Tahoe. Unfortunately, you can't see the water, but the mountains and sky are wicked.

Nice couple, you two make! Best of luck!

Remember: it does NOT take 50-50 to make a relationship work. Nope. 50-50 means each one is giving... say it with me... HALF the effort. It takes 100-100! And then the whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts - but only then.

Well said! I couldn't agree more. It's the little things that count as well. I used to work with a girl who didn't appreciate anything (probably why she was single). If she had been given a rose, she would have asked, "Where's the other 11?" I was thrilled when Cham brought me a shirt that said "I love tater tots."

Anyway, I forgot in the other post, but I should throw a thanks again toward Dru and Shan for letting me practically live at their place for those few days.

And to Pyro as she did introduce me to UT and DC. I never would have met him or any of you awesome people, for that matter, if it hadn't been for her....*whispers* and she gets mad if I don't acknowledge it. Hehehehe...

Do I hear a 60-40... or perhaps an 80-20 ?

The fundamental problem is this: The first word we learn as children is NO. From that point forward society teaches women that saying no isn't polite, and society teaches men to respect those who wont take no for an answer.

No altar for us. A garden, actually. Gorgeous, gorgeous garden. We had our second wedding anniversary this past June, but our anniversary is the same day as a good friend's birthday, so we went out with her and got drunk instead.

awwww, you're sooo cute!! My turn!!

Well, I was also through a couple of, uhhhh, relationships that were not all that great to say the least. Anyway, I went for a long time with girls basically not liking me, so I started getting to the point where I just pictured myself alone the rest of my life Well, one day this girl named Boingo_Babe came along. I didn't think she would be interested in me, but she kept talking to me. At first, I couldn't believe it. She made me happy just talking to her. She is so kind, smart, funny, and honest. When I finally saw her in person, I was beside myself with how beautiful she really is. Getting to know her personally has just made her even more beautiful in my eyes. She has this ability to make me laugh constantly or just make me feel good. All she has to do is smile at me and I smile back. She has so many things in common with me, it is almost wierd. I should be the one who is bragging, not her!!

nice story, how you two met each other
and true, shantara you indeed look good in that dress
through it wasnt a very "unique" wedding,
it must have been wonderfull in those gardens
hope you two dont break up so soon, or even better, not at all.
[pointing a bit to the point that a lot of people that get maried also break up after a few / a lot of years]

my mother and steff father, they met over the internet aswel, through a dating site.
the first time they saw each other, my mother just wanted to turn around
she thought "howly.. that guy is so big" and she just LOVES big man [NOT !]
and that beard..
but wel, she pulled herself together and gone to him,
they were just going to drive together to some places get to know each other,
and as fair as he was, he also told her of his money problems.
so he warned her, that she should think about what she wanted, and not just rush into it.
but she decided, she basicly just wanted a relation ship with him.
so 2 days later, he comes to our home, and i get to meat him.
knowing her passed relationship ended cause of me [the guy was basicly VERY selfish and came in without even noticing me.]
but he came in, and said hi to me and that realy also put a good impression on me to
so he leaves in the late evening, next day he comes again, stays to sleep.
[fast relation ship ? yes.]
that happening about 2 times.. he goes to work in the morning from his sister [he lives at his because of the money problem]
then when his work day is over, he came to us.
and eventualy, after not even a week, the decision was made
*adress changed*
so yeah, that was fast.
and there mariage.. was very.. unique almost everybody said it
no wedding cake, no white dress, just country clothing.
was great fun though.

i know it isnt my love story, but hey, i dont have much of a love story myself,
so just posted the one of my mother.

Well my what have you done for love story is still in the works. I've kinda got two side stories if I may. So here's the first My best friend melissa had a crush on me from eigth grade through till I left for college. I kinda rejected the idea of a GF for awhile but then as she grew older and more beautiful I started falling for her after all those times I rejected her. Now it seems the tables are turned. She's been with I'd say six really stupid guys that just use her. Well a few days ago I visited her on a sunday and her now Ex BF only has seen her every couple of months but they both live in the same city. Well on that sunday I found out that we kinda are a bf/gf relationship thing but without the strings. Bascially we act it. Now the second story is although it's been eight years she still has a thing for me as well. Cham and boingo Personal thanks to you two for getting me through the last rough time of my life. I appreciated it. So it looks like I found my one and only now it's just a matter of time. (I.E. College getting over and finding a job to support Mel and her little man Anthony) Give you an update later on this year.

Her and I were were more then happy to help you! You are a really good guy and I know what you were going through. I'm glad to hear that you have found someone. It's a really good feeling, isn't it? Everyone deserves to be happy. Being sad and lonely is the worst thing for any one person to go through.
