Hey Druid,

I was wondering if it would be possible to have the loaded skill check
for the lightning gun only mutator available in the game. I was hoping I
could use it to eliminate the sniper rifle from the game since alot of
the crashes the server has suffered all mention the sniper rifle.

The other thing I wondered was if there were some way I could specify which level of loaded will be the max level. Maybe there could be multiple versions of Loaded so we admins could choose which particular one we want to run with. Like 'DruidsRPG139.DruidLoaded1' or 'DruidsRPG139.DruidLoaded3' etc.

Just a thought for an upcoming version

Actually, I could have the skill read it's default properties out of the UT2004RPG.ini file. That would allow you to configure the guns as well as the maximum level.

I'll try to creep this into the next release, but it might be a release past that before it happens.

The fundamental problem is this: The first word we learn as children is NO. From that point forward society teaches women that saying no isn't polite, and society teaches men to respect those who wont take no for an answer.

There's another way, without waiting for a new release, open up DruidRPGxxx.u and find the address 000101A5, and it should say . or 05

that's the max level, if you don't find it, do a hex search for 2205 and get the second one after the loaded weapons description.

Just replace the 05 with 03 or something in hex, it will still look like a .

While a crafty answer, the problem you'll run into at that point is you'll have a bunch of people running around with md5's for the same package named druidsrpg... Lots of peeps would be getting incompatable class files

Shh, i was gonna tell him that, but i decided it shouldn't provide a problem if he's doing something on a private server

I've never tried, but you could possibly rename the file and change the class references in the ut2004rpg.ini file?

or even better, force them to delete it

yeah i kinda hack edit a lot of things but on a public server I wont go hex editing files that people need to play, eventually if it didnt become something I could limit the level of I was going to remove it. Too many people with 500+ for max ammo and getting 5 deemers per spawn and all ya know....

Wow. The highest level on our server is 105 after almost a year That's a lot of deemers. Our max ammo is also capped at (I think) 80 to avoid that issue.

"Hex edit something people need to play"?

Assuming they haven't downloaded druidrpg and added the .u file to their system directory, everything would be fine, it's just like if you had recompiled the source.

But i agree, limiting the amount of ammo bonus will solve the problem, along with limiting the amount of weapon speed bonus.

my server setup is a bit different from the BEL clans, I let people get up to around 500 level. I havent yet moved everyone over to the idea of vastly large amounts of experience to get to the next level. Im trying to find a good balance between a real RPG and a FPS game so that its fun to play and doesnt take forever to gain anything new. Although I have made great progress in making sure my server isnt one of the hundreds who just make it so every level is about 3 points more than the last.

It's not a bel clan server Shantara and I joined the bels, but the server has it's own distinct rules and leadership than the BEL clan.
