Anybody played this? Boingo and I have tried it out at Dru and Shan's place. Dru and Shan are really good at it, especially on the fast songs where you have to move your feet around quite fast.

I used to play the original version at the arcade. I was rather decent at it. The only reason we played is because it was free though, otherwise it would have been a major drain on the wallet. It's pretty fun and you can get a a pretty good workout. Never really tried the console versions of it though. I might consider buying the wii version when it comes out, as long as the whole using the wii mote as extra steps isn't too much a pain.

I used to be pretty good at it, but my PS2 has been gathering dust for a while. Particularly because a couple of friends broke one of my pads . Playing one player is good practice, but it's definitely not as entertaining as playing with friends.

I haven't played very many of the arcade versions. Mainly PS1/2, though I HATE PS1 versions that dock you points for missteps (as in you land the move on the screen but accidentally hit another arrow at the same time). Plus the timing on those versions are just weird.

Avis is hooked on it, and that was the one thing she really had to have for Christmas. And she got into a competition with some friends up in Fort Wayne IN on New Years Eve, and was kicking some serious behind. Somehow, I have managed to not get dragged into it, but I suspect that it will not be long until she succeeds, particularly once we get down to the other house, where the game will be on a carpeted concrete floor instead of on the shakey first floor of our current house.

Of course, it is interesting to note that I know a gal who has music featured in DDR Ultramix 3 (check out Zoica on my list of MySpace friends, then look at her other accounts). I have wondered how much DDR is like what she actually ends up doing or what goes on at her concerts, etc. LOL

I've played it at a friend's house, a few years back. I was pretty crappy, but so were a few of the other people there, so I had quite a bit of fun. A few of the people there were real good at it, too... and of course the rest of us just watched in awe.

Apparently there's a new version out for the Wii that combines the dance pad and the remote. So not only do you have to dance, you have to wave your arms around as well. It also allows up to four players at once. Sounds dangerous to me...
