Hey, Dru and Shan...check this one out.

http://unrealtournament2004.filefront.com/file/Enforcer_Weapon_Mod;45288

It adds the Enforcers back in instead of the darn Assault Rifle!

It's not quite like the Enforcers of old, but it works (in general), it works properly with RPG, and...yeah. I want mah Enforcers back!

Ack no!

I'm trying to fix certain things right now and if you replace the assault rifles, it breaks a few parts of my fixes.

The DruidLoaded issue would probably be easy to adjust for this (where AssaultRifles are put into an array, put the Enforcers instead), but the Denial thing would be a bit more of a tweak. Might have to move it *all* to a configuration variable so that if this mod is in use, you can configure the fixes for both classes ... hmmmmm ... think DruidLoaded already is configurable ...

I should really go to bed now

Why does everyone have it in for the assault rifles?

Skin download: http://www.disastrousconsequences.com/dcforum/posts/list/1189.page

The fundamental problem is this: The first word we learn as children is NO. From that point forward society teaches women that saying no isn't polite, and society teaches men to respect those who wont take no for an answer.

Horrifically innacurate and even at close range it does exceptionally poor dmg. I had duel rage 11 AR once, and with a triple, it was probably as powerful as a plain mini with no triple. I think even if the AR were given vorpal chances I still wouldn't use it, except to mess around.

Agreed, the Assault Rifles are a joke. The only reasons people use them is either because they dont have any other weapons (and even then, most people would rather use the shield gun instead), or people are bored and decide to use the assault rifle(s) to fool around.
The enforcers were useful and posed some sort of threat if used well unlike the assault rifles.

I say the assault rifle is perfect, it motivates you to go get a new gun and do it quickly, it can still do damage, and if the player is skilled at avoiding bullets and rockets they can still survive long enough to not need to use it anymore.
I can't be the only Invasion player who has some decent deathmatching skills can I?

I like the Enforcers because they were a viable weapon. Though weaker in DPS than all the other weapons, they were usable and accurate with their primary fire, and the secondary fire could allow you to do some panic mode damage in an emergency. In short, they were a reliable and useful backup.

The Assault Rifles, however, are not a viable weapon. They do less than half the DPS of the next more powerful weapon, and that's not taking into account their accuracy, which is so bad that they can literally miss a target point blank.

The Enforcers are coming back in UT2007 for a reason.

Assault rifle - damage/sec of primary beats only lightning gun and (unmodified) avril. It's very close to the damage/sec of the link secondary.

Damage/sec of secondary however beats shock primary, bio, sniper, lightning, and (unmodified) avril.

Keep in mind this means you are hitting with every shot, which is not likely.

Dual assault rifles do about as well as their secondary, and they would need about a +40% or +50% increase to do as much damage as a minigun. (This is assuming you eat through ammo twice as fast, and that you hit with every shot - the first I am not sure is true but think is, the second is pretty darn impossible.) That being said I'd take dual null 6 assaults over a normal minigun a lot of the time.

I find it kinda funny that vort put the MP5 on his server... heh. You didn't even need other weapons with that kinda thing!

Ive used assault rifles a few times and they do seem underpowered, maybe not as bad as some are saying but unless you are running a triple or dd then you are highly unlikely to kill anything with them... about the only use is if they have poison, knockback, or vamp but then again you always have sg and xloc at your disposal too which are very powerfull if used correctly.

It sounds like I should boost the power of the AR a bit instead of replacing it with some grossly overpowered weapon..

Just a little bit though, you can always add a little more later if needed.. its easier than giving it to much then having to take it from people if its overpowered.

Not a bad idea. And while you're at it, turn down the shield gun...
