Adrenaline Subtanks!!!  XML

The greatest idea EVER just came to me! Anyone ever played the Mega Man games? Well, the first fifty or so have Subtanks, right? Those Subtanks collect excess Health pickups, and you can use the Subtanks later to save your butt.

So, I figure, why not Adrenaline?

It'll be an ability with four levels, one for each Subtank. A Subtank will hold 100 Adrenaline, collecting excess from pickups (you pick them up regardless, so make them useful, yeah?), kills, and Adrenal Drip. Subtanks will be activated like Artifacts, and you can also see how much you have in each. Upon use, the subtank will empty at a rate of 20 Adrenaline per second. So that's five seconds to a Magic Weapon Maker, though note that a tank does not need to carry 100 Adrenaline to be used.

I like this idea because it would prevent the low-adrenaline guys from using high-adrenaline powers (as their character's Adrenal limit would still be in place), but it would give them large reserves to use with those they *can* use. Who else loves this idea?

I don't know... folks have already grumped, moaned and complained about how LA players are "too powerful", etc. Given how much of the time once I get my weapons taken care of, I end up running around with 250 adren for use in the nasty waves with the globe, I can just see folks screaming when suddenly I have several tanks full, and can run the globe, the triple, or both for an entire wave (or pick some other setup) and just walk all over the titans, warlords and queens.

So, my thought is that I don't think we need to give folks yet another excuse to call for the nerfing of "overly powerful LA players". As such, it has about as much appeal to me as eating Lutfisk or Kimchee.

Of course, talking about excess pickups, I wish they had stuck with the mode in the 2K4 demo where when you had picked up your fill of adren, you would no longer pick up any more. SIGH.

Oh, and BTW Kohan...most boards frown upon thread bumping for bumping sake. You might want to do some reading to see if Dru and Shan have said how they feel about it.

Okay, get rid of Triple and Globe, and we're set.

I say, Adrenaline Masters should be split into Augmented Marines and Merchants. The AMs would have the Triple Damage, Globe of Invincibility, et cetera, while the Merchants would have all of the Magic Weapon doohickies. I don't know about anyone else, but my Merchant has never used a Triple Damage or Globe of Invincibility in his life. Perhaps instead of Invincibility, it should be a "Globe of Much Less Damage". Better yet, disable firing of weapons while invincible. That oughta make people feel better. I mean, how many games do you know that allow huge amounts of attack and defense at the same time? More often than not, there's a tradeoff.

You could also make everyone a winner by adding Health Subtanks for non-Adrenaline freaks .

And sorry about the bump, I just felt it was a topic really worth discussing.

I think 100 adren is a bit much but if the tank were placed into your artifact inventory (I think this should stay out of loaded artifacts and just be something dropped for kills so everyone could have a chance to get one) probably make it a 1 time use also.

So basically if you found one, and had full adren then you could add up to 50 adren to the tank wich would then have to be activated.... makes it complicated enough to use that it couldnt be done very often but would still pack a punch when you did use it.

1. It is in the Artifact inventory (as in, activated the same way).
2. It is a one-time use before having to fill it up to 100 again.
3. It isn't an artifact, it's more like a giant hypodermic needle filled with Adrenaline. Therefore, it wouldn't be acquired through Loaded Artifacts. It's a separate ability entirely, with four levels; one for each tank.
4. If you got it from enemies, those who don't do heavy duty killemall wouldn't exactly have a fair chance of getting them.
