Hello, I was just wondering if anyone knew about the fact that when you fire after entering a vehicle, it doesnt appear to take into account your weapon speed, unless you enter the vehicle, fire, exit the vehicle, and then re-enter it.

Does it just appear that it isnt taking into account your weapon speed bonus, or is it not actually taking it into account.

I couldnt find the answer to this in any of the other posts, but I know it happens to many people on Geisha's Reapers [-R*B-] RPG ONS server, and I guess on others as well.

Any help much appreciated, cheers.

It takes into account your weapon speed. When I've played one character with weapon speed enhanced I have to do the in-out thing, when I play the chacter w/o weapon speed the trick doesn't work.

You mean I really am important? How I feel when I'm drunk is correct?

IMO, and from a realistic point of view, I don't think that your weapon speed should transfer to a vehicle. Your stats are personal stats for the character you play. When you enter a vehicle, you should suffer the loss and inherit the capabilities of the vehicle weaponry.

Lets say you had several weapons at home and tinkered with them to increase the rate of fire until you were happy with them. It would be absurd to assume that by jumping into a jet airplane that those tinkerings would tranfer to onboard weapons. Ludicrous, I say.

I do feel that the creation of a new ability may be in order for increasing vehicle weapon speed, but also feel that this personal stat should NOT be transferrable to vehicle weapons.

If at first you don't friccasee, fry, fry a hen.

I'd buy it then be angry because no one ever plays ONS!

Maybe an idea for the potential enginear class..

Definately, and an engineer class would promote ONS play I would think.

I am relatively certain that it shoots at exactly the same rate the first time you enter, just does not play the sound faster. The second time you enter it it also plays the sound faster.

The sound is certainly affected, but im pretty sure that the amount of projectiles that come out of vehicles, only show the normal amout, whereas because I have 100 weapon speed bonus, it should show twice as many?

Perhaps if there are the correct number of projectiles (also doing the correct amount of damage), but you just cant see them, then it's livable with. But I wonder whether this could be fixed in a future DruidsRPG release? Or if it would need to be fixed in the original RPG mod?

Something else I noticed, which is probably irrelivant to the mod: I don't know if its the game itself glitching, or the mod(s), but I noticed earlier that occasionally when you fire (on foot) it doesnt show the projectile, which is not good if your a flak addict lol :s It only ever seems to happen when there's loads going on in the screen at once though. The only thing is, I can't remember this happening when I've played on other servers (without the rpg / druidsrpgmods).

That's probably because no server lags like a server with high weapon speed and a lot of monsters shooting plenty of projectiles. And the fact that barely any other invasion server holds 20 people. I mean, we all get 1.5x natural weapon speed... and with everyone shooting at once, at 20+ monsters, also shooting, at once, I imagine it's a little hard for a server not to lag.

Hhhmmm, I expect thats the case, but for the record, the server I play on is primarily a ONS RPG server, running the Druidsrpg mod, its limited to 14 players as well. Not sure what the hardware is exactly, but I imagine it wouldnt take a particularily beefy machine to handle it comfortably.

I've been playing a bit this afternoon, and I'm not sure im convinced that you do as much damage while the vehicle's weapons are glitched. Not had a chance to try it in controlled conditions though, but I may well give it a go on my own rig soon.

Well, I think it's pretty obvious if you give yourself, say, 1000 weapon speed and hop in a manta. There will be tons more shots than usual.
