Almost every time I launch UT2k4 I hear my PC play that .WAV file as if I just plugged in a USB thumb drive (or anything USB). Anyone else get this? Any idea what this is?

Normally when I launch UT2k4, I'm clicking on the "ENTER THE GAME" link on the home page so that I'll connect right to the server.

I dont know if its UT2004 that have a hole, but if you dont have zone alarm, check for this file in your SYSTEM32 folder.
Also, anyone else have ZoneAlarm and got this issue?

The fundamental problem is this: The first word we learn as children is NO. From that point forward society teaches women that saying no isn't polite, and society teaches men to respect those who wont take no for an answer.

It seems Widows based and being that the server runs Linux as an OS, I don't think it is even compatible making the server a non-carrier.

From what I am reading, this thing is bad news. For those that like to remove malware manually, it could actually be quite a challenge and provide hours of enjoyment.

The general consesus is to just block it with your personal firewall until the anti-virus folks work out a fix.

I can't explain how difficult it would be for us to send you any form of binary. We can send you unreal tournament files, and to the best of my knowledge that's all we can send you.

That's why I say, and continue to say, this file didn't come from us.

If you google the file name you get alot of links to forums where many many people have seen this file on their computer in the last few weeks and none of them know where they got it either.

Most likely you clicked on something or visited a website that stuck it on your hard drive for you. Isn't that nice of them?

What Internet browser do you use? If you use Internet Explorer that could explain how you got it. Malicious hacker types are always finding new exploits in IE that allow them to stick you with bad files when you visit their sites or whatever.

At any rate, this sort of thing is bound to happen once in a while so whenever you find a file name you dont recognize, just google search it and usually its listed somewhere with a description and many sympathetic people in the same boat.
