Well, Ooo was right. 20+ players with a ton of medic pets = super lagtastic play.

I think those inf medic weapons cause just a bit of lag.. especially rockets.

Actually, I think the flak is a lot worse than the rocket. Around 20 little pieces, all having to bounce off of surfaces...

My Players: Junkie: Kyraeu 85 -- Medic: Excuses 68 -- Weapon: Fyruse 40
Saving for: Ghost 1, 2, 3, then adren skills -- Ghost 3 -- max DB, then some HB

Pyramidion and I both had issues with non-rendering monsters, guns, ammo. I even couldn't see the players for a while.

Tons of pets running around, pings good, FPS good. Dunno the root cause but I think it is medic abilities as well.

If at first you don't friccasee, fry, fry a hen.

Actually, when the ping and FPS are good that is an indicator that its the client speed that is choking. Press F6 and check the Incoming data. I bet its pegging at the maximum the server allows and its still not enough to receive all the info that is flying around.

Medics can help out in two ways.
1) Don't use the Flak or Link gun as a medic gun, the Minigun seems to work very well to heal people quickly and its hitscan so no extra projectile tracking needed.
2) summon the more powerful pets and keep it to 1 or 2 at most, not 5 or 6 or whatever is the max.

It definitely is peaking on the bandwidth limit. I was watching the stats when playing tonight and it frequently hit the 10kbps limit. The projectiles always disappeared when the limit was hit.

I'm not sure what can be done about it though. Raising the limit by 2kbps might help. I've looked at the server stats a few times and the CPU and memory loads seem low enough to handle everything we are throwing at it.

I'm thinking this is probably what the problem has been whenever we play primeval. Tracking 30 titans and 60 titan rocks probably exceeds the 10k bandwidth limit.

Please let me know if this is happening outside of vehicle invasion.

The fundamental problem is this: The first word we learn as children is NO. From that point forward society teaches women that saying no isn't polite, and society teaches men to respect those who wont take no for an answer.

Any comments on which pets you saw?

Oh yes ... the original post was in reference to two or three maps in a row that were not VINV - regular invasion, and I'd swear one of them was Stalwart.

I've been having non-rendering issues alot since the medics were added myself. During the day and in the th emorning when the servers not packed I'm all good but int he evenings when theres 20+ on wave 15 and 16 are just about unplayable for me. I've been figuring it's all the pets myself.

Speaking of which didn't ya say the cow pets were going by the wayside Druid?

If it's found to be the pets then take the lower pets away (bunnies, cows, tenticals, etc..) or only one monster summon per player, but give the medics something in return (cheaper monster intellegence, cheaper monsters).

Yes, one was stalwart. I also saw it on Gael and cola wars. I haven't played a VINV map in over three weeks. It typically starts to happen around wave 13 and gets progressively worse.

Lately I've seen less nali bunnies and cows. I think people have gotten over the "cute" phase of summoning and know that these pets are useless. I see a lot of mid-level stuff - skaarj, assasins and brutes.

Ive noticed something weird with Skaarjs pets.

Count d'Medic have a very High intelligence skill and i saw his Skaarj doing break dance like he was on crack or something.

Would it be that high Intelligence pets "change idea" Very often and sends an update to the UI each time a said pet takes a decision?

On wave 13 and above i can understand those pets changing ideas every milliseconds. There is so much mobs

It would also explain those fast back and forth moves.
